Inspired by the lovely perverts in the Sex Toy thread I’ve decided to gather opinions on a related topic. I’m plum out of sex lube and I’m in the market for something new. In the past I’ve used Astroglide and it’s fine, but I figured I’d get some more educated opinions. What does the Doper populace recommend? Use any criteria you decide is important.

I’m a big fan of Astroglide gel. It isn’t as messy to apply, but has all the same goopy slipperiness of Astroglide.
Big, big fan of Astroglide. Nothing out there like it.
I like O’My Flavored Natural Lubricant - it’s waterbased and smells lovely (comes in different scents), and a little goes a long way. (If you don’t like scents, they have an unscented version.) It also contains hemp, which is supposed to discourage bacteria and stuff. Good for oral; works fine for handjobs as well.
For my money the slipperest lube is Probe. It does what it’s supposed to do. The drawback is it’s a little messier. And for me (the guy) increased lube means less friction. Less friction=less feel good. But it makes it better for her so I can stay longer.
Silk is more oil feeling. Not as messy and doesn’t decrease my sensitivity. They are both good.
Didn’t like Astro-glide so much.
My faves (and my wife seems to agree) are Hydra-smooth and Liquid Silk. Hydra-smooth is just perfect.

Astroglide, Wet Light, or ID Glide are all good.
Probe is a little too snot-like for me, and KY Silk will do the trick if necessary.

I’m curious- why would you need it for oral? Maybe I have the wrong mental image… oral on him or her?
Ack, I wasn’t thinking straight when I was typing that. What I mean was that it’s good for handjobs and works fine with oral as well - i.e., if you switch from a handjob to oral, which I do often, the lube isn’t going to taste funny.
I love Pink by Empowered Products. It’s a silicone based lube, so a little goes a long way and it doesn’t get sticky. Silicone lubes are a little harder to remove (soap and water does the trick) but the slickness and duration are well worth it.
Important If you use a silicone lube with a toy, and the toy is made of silicone then you need to test the compatibility. Place a drop of the silicone lube onto the toy and wait for 24 hours. If there is any discoloration/warping/etc then do not use the lube with the toy, and grab a bottle of a waterbased lube instead.
*disclaimer: I am a toy buyer for an adult bookstore chain. I like Pink because it’s the best lube I’ve tried so far. YMMV.
Another for Silk. It feels oil based, but a little definitely goes a long way.
I am a big fan of all of the ID products. I worked in a sex shop for a year and tested out most of the products in the store at some point or other and ID was my favorite of the water based lubes. Their ID Warming is caffinated and their ID Pleasure (?) has a chemical that causes blood to rise to the surface making things extra sensitive.

I don’t like getting silicone lubes in my vagina. It seems like that stuff stays there for days. Clean-up is a problem because anything strong enough to cut the lube would burn skin. Astroglide is my favorite of the water-soluble lubes.
That being said, I find water-based lubes insufficient for anal applications. Vaseline is a great lube, but doesn’t work with latex. Millenium is my choice for silicone lubes.

One of the nice side perks of working at a birth control and reproductive health clinic is that we had ten jillion different lube samples to try at any given moment. Far and away the one preferred by the entire staff of about fifty women who* loooove* to talk about these things was ID Millennium. That stuff is great.
On the flip side, we had Probe samples for a while, and you couldn’t pay people to take them. Everyone was so completely grossed out by it that we’d crack open samples in the clinic purely for entertainment. There was one of them–maybe the anal formula?–that you could dribble on your finger, touch a surface, and stretch a snot-like string two feet long. Aside from a thoroughly nasty texture… it’s called “Probe”. Blech.
