Recommend some foreign movies and TV series - with caveats

Mentioned in the other current Cafe Society thread Series you've recently watched, are now watching or have given up on - #3060 by solost are two french series Balthazar and Black Spot. I’ve only just started with Balthazar but am enjoying it, the titular character is a brilliant yet eccentric police pathologist and his foil is a newly transferred female homicide detective. Black Spot is set in a small town in a remote area of France with a surprising number of crimes and an interesting slow reveal of supernatural elements. There are only 2 seasons and while the main story/mystery gets resolved I really thought that there’d be at least one more season but it appears that’s not going to happen.

Vincenzo is a South Korean series, one season with 21 episodes. The titular character is an orphan adopted by an Italian couple who grows up to be the consigliere of a powerful gang. When the head of the family dies, Vincenzo returns to South Korea to claim a fortune in gold hidden in a building slated for demolition. I found it both hilarious and chilling.

Then there’s the Mexican the supernatural thriller Diablero. I realize the OP excluded the country, but if you enjoyed any of the Army of the Dead movies or the TV show, I think you’ll like this one.

Lastly, the Sweden-Denmark series Bron/Broen or The Bridge that starts with a body found placed on a bridge exactly on the border between the two countries. I thought the first season was excellent, it went downhill a bit in season 2 so I didn’t finish. The show spawned a number of copycats with other bordering countries that I haven’t seen.

ETA - I somehow linked to the last post in the other thread, not the one that mentions Balthazar and Black Spot…
