Several relatives doing the camping thing at Pearl Lake near Steamboat Springs at end June/early July. It’s going to be easiest if we have a hotel reasonably close to the camping area. China Spouse is not a big camper, 8 year old daughter will probably camp with her cousins, 3 year old twins will probably do the hotel. Prefered amenities include a kitchenette and pool. Budget in the $100-200 range. Dares are probably 30 june - 3 july.
Anyone have recomendations? Thanks in advance.
I strongly reccomend Celebrity Resorts Steamboat. A good friend of mine whiled away a couple of winters as concierge there and Razorette and I stayed a couple of times. Not bad, pricewise, for a Colorado mountain town. I calculated $199.67 per night, given the info you included.
If economy is important, believe it or not the Super 8 is a better-than-average motel with very affordable prices. That’s our usual inn at Steamboat, and we’re quite happy with it.
When I used to go to Steamboat on motorcycle trips, we usually stayed at the Rabbit Ears Motel or the Nordic Lodge. Both are pretty basic hotels - clean, kinda funky, but definitely not resorts.
Granted, this info is 6-7 years old. But we’ve stayed in those places at various times between 1990 and 2001 or so, and they were always decent and reasonably priced.
