Dodge/Chrysler/Stellantis has recently revived the name Hornet for a compact hatchback/SUV.
What other Model Names do you think they should bring back?
Rambler?
Coronet?
Polara?

Gremlin. I always thought that was cool.
If it’s got to be a former Chrysler product, how about the Imperial or the Electra 225?
Imperial makes sense. It has a long successful history.
For those if us at a certain age, Hornet isn’t a Chrysler name. Just because they bought AMC shouldn’t mean they can reuse the name.
And Maverick is a small car, not a restyled Ranger.
A 2024 Edsel would be cool to own.
Maybe an EV? Introducing, the E-Dsel.
mmm
Ford UK recycled the Cortina name down several generations of cars, which had no parts in common by the end.
You win the thread!
Electra is Buick/GM.
D’oh! Thanks for the correction.
At least nobody is talking about bringing back the Olds Delta 88. That would sell great to the White Supremacists & skinheads.
I’d love to see a sporty 2 door hatchback Daytona again. I had two '89s.
Where’s the rest of your car Toots?
That would be a plugin diesel hybrid.
See, this is what bugs me, when they reuse the name but put it on a completely different type of vehicle. I believe Mitsubishi has done the same with the Eclipse, which used to be a sports coupe but is now an SUV.
I’d love to see a full size Charger with a hemi, pointy nose and a wing again. AND running NASCAR. Camaros don’t belong in NASCAR.
What we really need is a new Ford Prefect.
Groan!
(But I liked it. Well done!)
I’d like someone to take a Dodge Challenger, cut out a foot from the middle, and call it an AMX.
Even if it is only a concept car or a Foose Design.
Are car model names copyrighted or protected in any way?
There’s a Romanian car company called Dacia (now part owned by Renault) that has the Duster which was a Chrysler model back in the 70’s.
I believe it is, to an extent.
When GMC marketed an AWD turbo pickup, they wanted to call it the Cyclone.
But the Mercury division of Ford already had the rights to the name of a muscle car from the 60s/70s.
So GMC simply changed the spelling…the Syclone.
