Haunting, crystalline voice, constant growth and development as a performer, and she just keeps getting better looking as she ages.

I measure the success and credibility of new neo-traditional country acts by whether Emmylou does any harmony vocals or duets on their albums. Until she appears with them, they lack true grit.
One thing that makes me really like her were her comments before one of the songs in Will the Circle be Unbroken II. She basically said that music has become too commercialized and that “we’ve lost the living room” in a lot of today’s music. That really struck me as insightful and accurate.
WOW - it was even mentioned here.
I suck!! I really like Emmy’s music and everytime I hear her voice, I say to myself, “Self, you really need to go buy this album, and a few more just for good measure!”. Then, I procrastinate, and don’t do it. Shame, Shame on me! I will repent and get some of her albums for my collection. Tommorrow.
Homebrew, check out Cheri Knight’s solo allbum Northwest Kingdom. Emmy is featured on the opening track and this is one of the best albums I have found lately. Kind of “AltCountry/Rock” with a lot of Steve Earle influence. Try it, I think you will like it.
And yes, Emmy is getting hotter every day! That platinum hair makes me put up a pee-pee tee-pee!
My dog has dyslexia and a Christ complex.
Erm … of course I meant “Red Dirt Girl” …
although “Red Dirt Grill” might make a fine name for a roadside diner.
P.S. Memo to self: never post after 3 a.m. without previewing
Wrecking Ball is pure genius…never quite wrapped my ears around Red Dirt Girl though.
Hard to go wrong with Nanci, Gillian, Allison either.
Here’s another fan checking in. I’ve hung on Emmylou’s every word since I first heard her versions of “Wayfaring Stranger” and “Pancho and Lefty” about a gazillion years ago.
