Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, and J. K. Simmons? A lot of agents are probably going to get fired, because this looks pretty meh.
Still might watch it.

It is so far off the beaten track for holiday shows that it’ll either land perfectly and the 20-and 30-somethings whose taste in film is centered in the MCU and similar will love it. Or it’ll sink like stone on day 3. One thing’s for sure; geezers and traditionalists aren’t the target market.
Unrelated to the above:
IMO planning to release a silly fantabulist film just about election time will either be a stroke of genius itself as everyone is seeking relief from the crazy, or it’ll also sink like a stone as everyone is too glued to the news to think of anything else.
So two kinds of double-or-nothing
That’s an algorithmically determined cast, I reckon.
I like the polar bear and the snowmen better than the cast. This will be a money maker, but not a Christmas classic.
And @LSLGuy has it right, we are not the target audience.
I’m always kind of curious when people post messages saying “A new trailer has just come out!” Where are people seeing these trailers? I used to see trailers in movie theatres, but sometimes people post a trailer for a TV series. Are they seeking them out on the internet?
I’ll be damned if I can figure out who the target audience is.
Perhaps, but more likely it’s algorithmic advertising.
Once you’ve trained e.g. YouTube, that you like watching movie trailers by clicking on 2 or 3 presented at random or referred by friends, pretty soon you’ll be offered every new one that comes out.
Actually, it occurred to me that I see ads for movies fairly regularly, but I don’t really think of them as “trailers” and I generally try to tune out all kinds of ads.
I still haven’t seen a trailer for a TV series in the wild, though (as far as I know?).
Yech. Red Notice was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.
But, this time, Chris Evans is playing Ryan Reynolds.
I do like to watch movie trailer reactions, so that may have caused it.
So what, pray tell, is a “movie trailer reaction?”
where you watch other people watching movie trailers …
I’m waiting for the reaction to the reaction videos.
Yes, yes we are. All the time. Ever since I stayed up until dawn to watch the first trailer for Phantom Menace back in 1998. I hear about a movie or show that sounds interesting, I look for a trailer.
That ship has sailed.
I’ve seen reactions squared. It gets weird.
Did someone finally get around to seeing Santa Claus: The Movie with Dudley Moore and say “Hold my beer!”?
4th and 5th grade boys.
I don’t know. I think even they would look at the trailer and say “The Rock is cool, but that looks really stupid. Let’s watch Fast and Furious 22 again.”
ETA: the Christmas theme would turn off action movie fans and the violence would turn off Christmas movie fans. I mean I am a 4th or 5th grade boy in my taste sometimes, and would not watch that.
I didn’t say they made an accurate decision.
