So you think it’s “reasonably foreseeable” that a landlord would default on his mortgage? So when someone tries to rent an apartment they should insist on a full financial investigation of their prospective landlord to protect themselves from the possibility that he might not be fiscally responsible? And what universe do you live in where it would be possible for a tenant to insist that part of her rent be paid directly to the mortgage company? Perhaps she should have also insisted that part of it go to the gas company to pay the building’s heating bills, just to guarantee that they were also paid promptly.
And, while this has been addressed by others, I would like to reiterate the stupidity of your statement quoted in the original thread that she should have just bought a house instead of renting one. Not everyone has the financial resources to “just buy a house”. In case you haven’t been following the news for the last few months, a number of financial institutions are currently experiencing some problems because they gave mortgages to people that they couldn’t really afford. (Which brings up another point; I assume that you are opposed to all the government bailouts being thrown about because those institutions did not “reasonably foresee” that so many people might end up defaulting on their loans.)

In a thread where people were sharing their opinions about a situation, I shared mine. Not sure how that qualifies as threadshitting. Or do you thibk that everyone that has a minority view should just shut up?

On the SDMB, there is no distinction between the two. Post a minority opinion, stick to your guns, and sooner or later someone always starts making accusations of trolling. More than a few Dopers find the fact that not everyone agrees with them reflexively to be offensive. Then we get these fifteen page pile-ons where the Usual Suspects try, over and over, to get the latest Bad Guy to fall for their rhetorical tricks.

No one is saying you are threadshitting for posting a minority opinion. You are threadshitting for posting a douchebag opinion. This is the problem with being a douchebag: you don’t get to do things that other people get to do without everyone jumping on your case. Were I an attorney for many of the “minority opinion holders” you defend, I would strongly advise them to cop a plea for trolling. Based on the available evidence, any reasonable jury would otherwise return a conviction, in short order, for the crime of irredeemable stupidity.

I don’t think the word “reasonable” means what you think it means. Given your own clearly documented conceptual challenges, I am not sure you are the best person to judge whether anything is reasonable.
