Red Rover, Red Rover, send Rand Rover over

No, it is not a false analogy. It is the exact same bahavior.

ETA: Having a JD is not a behavior, any more than having dark skin is.

First out loud laugh in the thread. Thanks!

I have seen just such unreasonable ire pointed at doctors, too. If the doctors treats you well and helps you heal, that’s considered “he got lucky” or attributed to “I come from healthy stock”. But woe unto the doctor who does not cure you or stop the progression of your disease. You own culpability is never admitted; its’ so much easier to blame the physician or healthcare team.

So it is with lawyers. Yes, there are bad docs out there and yes, there are unethical lawyers, but most of both professions are dedicated professionals who have worked hard to get where they are and deserve respect until they demonstrate otherwise (like everyone else on the planet-truly this is an odd hijack. I wonder what Ayn would have made of it?)

I did not know PeeWee Herman was a poster here.

But you answered my question. There are certain idiocies normal people can’t mimic.

No, you don’t work hard and go to school to get dark skin. You are born with it. You do go to school to get a JD. One is volutary, the other is not. Besides my beef is not with JDs, but practicing members of the bar. I know three JDs who have never practiced law.

Whether or not it is voluntary has nothing to do with the fact that you extrapolate idiotic opinions about the group as a whole based on your limited experience with a few people. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about lawyers, bankers, Asians, or people who like to scuba dive.

Wow. You’re the one getting ALL torqued up because Jodi said “fuck you” to you. Maybe it’s you who has the “very tender sensibilities.” You fling shit in the Pit, it gets flung back at you, and now you’re flailing around, insulting people, which you think is somehow justified by your paranoid hatred of lawyers and one who said “fuck you” after you tarred her profession with a very broad and insulting brush. You, sir, are a hypocrite.

Oh, poor widdle you. She wasn’t “semi-professional” with someone who already expressed zero respect for her profession. Really, you want to have your cake and eat it too: slam lawyers, then be treated with respect by them. That ain’t how it works, here or in real life. You are definitely not cut out for the Pit.

Further evidence:

Do you even know what a “sock puppet” is? If so, are you actually accusing me of being one? Please, do report your suspicions to a mod. See how far that gets you.

What is it that Bricker says? When 10 people tell you you’re drunk, it’s time to go lie down. You’re drunk, Second Stone. Lie the fuck down and let this thread go. You’re not doing yourself any favors here.

And your comments are based on your assumption that it is based on my “limited experience with a few people.” You have no idea who many lawyers and judges I worked with. Describing my experience as with “a few people” is simply wrong for any definition of a few.

I’m not particularly “torqued up” but it is rude. And it is said by a lawyer defending the sterling reputation of lawyers as wonderful people? Ha. It’s not the first time a lawyer has said to me or in my presence the exact words: “fuck you and the horse that you rode in on.” My best friend, who is a lawyer, has said that to me in jest.

And the profession is not a personal possession of Jodi, it belongs to all lawyers, not just the rude ones.

I don’t hate lawyers, I think the profession is filled with scum who face no consequences for their actions. There is a difference. I’d like to see it change.

I have very little respect for the legal profession. That opinion is earned. I don’t expect the kind of lawyers who would say “fuck you and the horse you rode in on” to anyone to be a respectable person in any fashion.

How it works in legal life? As noted above I’ve heard the phrase from lawyers before, to myself and others. And so have other lawyers. It is a typical lawyer phrase. And you know what lawyers say in response to that phrase in real life? Call up a lawyer friend and ask what they would say if a lawyer said that phrase to them. Odds are, they will make a crack about bestiality. That’s how it works in real life.

I’m not cut out for the Pit? I’ll tell you what, Ruby, go over to Giraffe and lets dance. I’ll start the thread.

Right, because no respectable professional has ever told somebody to go fuck themselves.

Idiot.

I don’t care how many you have encountered. Taking into consideration the number of lawyers in the US, you have met less than a few. When I said “a few” I was being more than generous.

But YOU WERE RUDE TOO. Why is it OK for you to be rude and not her? You actually initiated the rudeness, and when you were responded to with rudeness, you got all butthurt. What a delicate little flower you are.

I don’t consider someone who tars an entire group of people with a broad brush as you have to be a respectable person either. Yes, you obviously ARE all torqued up, as since Jodi said that oh so offensive “fuck you and the horse you rode in on,” you have accused her of bestiality, equated fucking her with fucking a dead person, implied that she has a stretched out vagina, etc. That, to me, is torqued up. All because she said “fuck you” to you. Wow. Sense of proportion? Really, you have overreacted wildly to a comment that you provoked. Get over it.

Wait, are you asking me to join another message board specifically for the purpose of being insulted by you? You seriously overestimate your importance to me. I don’t doubt your ability to dish it out; I doubt your ability to take it. All you’ve done here is whine, whine, whine. It’s pretty hilarious.

…↑

No, I was not rude to Jodi. She took offense to my statement about lawyers in general. It was not directed to her personally. But if it is your opinion that I started it, then I respect your opinion. I just don’t agree with it.

As for not being able to take it, you issued the challenge. I can take any insult that you can dish out. I’m just inviting you to a forum where you have some more freedom to say what you really think. Or are you too chicken to put your mouth where your mouth is? That would be pathetic if it weren’t so cowardly.

Your comments about lawyers were rude and insulting. Jodi, as a lawyer, was insulted by them, which was your intention, after all. She reacted with a fairly throwaway insult back, and you went freakin’ insane with the insults in response. I am clearly not alone in my assessment of that exchange. Unless we, Captain Amazing, Algorithm, Jodi, Not Really All that Bright, Labrador Deceiver, etc., are ALL Jodi’s sock puppets, the consensus is that you’re being an ass. Think about it.

You’re the one who’s pathetic and cowardly. I really do not give enough of a shit about you to join another message board for the sole and express purpose of being called names by you. There is nothing you really need to say to me that you can’t say here. Also, I’m not sure what the hell I said to you that is causing you to start shit with me on a whole 'nother message board. Obviously you are an oversensitive nutjob prone to flagrant overreaction when even slightly called on his shit. As such, not even worth the time it took to type this.

God, you’re a fucking nutjob. (The Second Stone, not Ruby)

Yet here you are taking the time to type it. Post, after post, after post. You are pathetic and an obvious nutjob. It wasn’t even about you, but here you are, posting as though it was your own daughter. You offer a fight (not an argument) but a fight. But outside your own little Lynn and Ed protection zone, you can’t be bothered.

I’m a nutjob? Wow, you really turned that one around on me! Good one! You’re the one who thinks it’s important enough to take it to another board. Too scared to say it here, or can’t say it without swear words? I leave it to the reader to decide.

You’re right. I can’t be bothered. Consider this conversation over. You can keep insulting me if you want, in whatever forum you want, on whatever board you want. Wherever you do it, you’re still a crazy loser. Later.

Bye. Chicken.

As you can see, our sole recruitment strategy is to go “bok bok bok” at people on other message boards. Sometimes we also post links to YouTube videos of ourselves making flapping motions with our arms.

So far it’s been very effective.

Yeah, I suck. I’m really sorry about what I said to Guin.

But wait! Wait! Don’t you want to put your mouth where your mouth is, whatever that means? Don’t you want to meet him there and dance?
