Reddit has jumped the shark. Can I come here please?

Hey folks,

I was flirting with Reddit for the last couple of years - it seemed to be sciencey and interesting, but now it seems to be full of NSFW pics and trolls from 4chan.

Is the SDMB still an interesting place?
I wandered away when it became a paysite, and was glad it went back to being a sensible free forum - but TBH I never got back into it, preferring the upvote/downvote crowd for a while.

It seems Reddit may have jumped the shark, can I come here for refuge?
