Redux: more slang terms' equivalent in Spanish

In Mexico, menso, tarugo, baboso are some examples not yet mentioned.

Bobo would have been a problem for old-time pitcher Louis Norman Newsom if he ever pitched in Mexico.
And members of Mensa would not appreciate the association made by Spanish speakers in Mexico of their organization’s name–which actually comes from the Latin word mesa, meaning “table.” :frowning:

Burro.

Pendejo means lacking a backbone for Dominicans.

Mensa is a female idiot in Mexico.

Yeah well, it’s Greek (“someone who being allowed to vote can’t be arsed to”)… IME it’s a lot more common in Spain than in Latin America but so’s imbécil (which is Latin, “someone who is not considered capable of making his own legal decisions”).

That’s what I mean.

This keeps the universe in balance, since in Mexico a bimbo is just a piece of white bread. :wink:
