Reform Jewish Dopers: What do you think of the new HH Days prayerbooks?

I like them. I especially like all the footnotes explaining the meaning and purpose of all the prayers, as well as the discussion of the purpose of prayer in general. I like the alternative translations with their goal of inclusivity. And that includes atheists! There’s even this quote from Carl Sagan

“How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, “This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant?” Instead they say, “No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.” A religion, old or new, that stressed the magnificence of the Universe as revealed by modern science might be able to draw forth reserves of reverence and awe hardly tapped by the conventional faiths.”

Any other Jewish dopers like these new books? Or is it just too much political correctness?

What new books? I’ll admit that we went to a Kids service with our 7 and 10 year old kids that used a photocopied 30 page book, but I believe we are using Gates of Repentance.
