Regifting possible on a Southwest Rapid Rewards ticket?

I’ve traveled quite a bit this year for work, and in doing so have accumulated a few free flight awards on Southwest. I’ve used a couple to books flights for my mother and stepson to visit for the holidays, which leaves me one RT ticket left. After deciding that the wife and I won’t be using it, I’ve been pondering what to do with the remaining ticket.

So, in direct contradiction to my username, and given that it’s Veteran’s Day –I’ve hit upon the idea to gift it to a much deserving member of our armed forces (or a spouse, family member, etc.) so that they may have a chance to see loved ones for the holidays. My initial plan is to place an ad on Craigslist, stating the terms it will be given under, and then scrutinize the responses as best I can to ensure my intentions are followed. I expect I will get all kinds of fishy responses, and no doubt someone will think they can fool me or will try to resell the ticket/trade for something else of value.

My question is: Can someone resell/rebook the rapid reward ticket after I’ve booked it in their name? I looked at the FAQ on Southwest’s website and this situation is not specifically addressed. I also tried calling SW to ask about it, but gave up after 15 minutes on hold. What is the flaw in my plan? Maybe I shouldn’t give a rip what happens after I give it, but I want my original intent honored nonetheless.
