Remember old advertising jingles?

Two all-beef patties,
special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles,
onions on a sesame-seed bun.

And Burger King’s version:

“Hold the pickles,
Hold the lettuce,
Special orders don’t upset us,
All we ask is that you let us,
Serve it your way.
Have it your way at Burger King!”

Well, since we’re doing Burger jingles…

“Hurry on down to Hardees, where the burgers are charcoal broiled” (from the era when there were Hardees around here in New York…apparently the new era when they are coming back - announced in 2013 - hasn’t quite arrived yet in my area :frowning: )

The “Come all the way up. . .” commercial was for Kool cigarettes.

LSMFT = Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco (I think)

It’s kinda scary how catchy and seductive cigarette advertising was.

*~Ai ~ ai ~yi yiii~
~ I am the Frito Bandito~~
*

That’s all I got.

I love Fritos corn chips
I love them, I do
I want Fritos corn chips
I’ll get them from you.

I remember that one!

How about…

Let’s all go to the Dairy Queen,
I see one just down the street!
We’re all going to the Dairy Queen
to get a fresh frozen treat!

Not exactly jingles, but I can’t forget :

Where money talks, nobody walks - Denison Clothiers, Route 22 Denison New Jersey

If it’s Tuesday, it imust be Red’s Tamale Day

Whenever a coin in the coffer rings
A soul from Purgatory springs!

Okay, I’m not *that *old.

In our pantry are two Farfel mugs. Just for special occasions.

“Hey, Mister Tally Man
Tally me banana.
Bic Banana Markers, you gotta get some.
Come in a one-pack, eight-pack, twenty-pack,
Bic Banana Markers for the office or home!
We got a color for you!
Bic Banana Markers, you gotta get some!”

“Pete Ellis Dodge
Long Beach Freeway
Firestone exit,
Southgate!” (and various other permutations of this sung to the same tune)

Red Rose Tea!
Red Rose Tea!
Red Rose! Red Rose!

I had to look that up because I couldn’t believe it had been that long. Yep, banned in 1976 here.

I still remember the backing tune when Hoges did the Winfield ads.:o

Don’t forget the second verse to the Oscar Mayer Wiener song:

Oh,I’m glad I’m NOT an Oscar Mayer wiener
That is what I’d NEVER want to be
For if I was an Oscar Mayer wiener
There would soon be nothing … left … of … me.

(as the original singer catches up with the rebellious one)

From the Kansas City area, way back when, probably borrowing its notes from an even earlier forgotten song:

Milgram’s grocery chain: “Hi neighbor, hi neighbor!”

Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco Treat
Rice-a-Roni, everybody’s got the beat
Started out where cable cars played this song
Now try this at home before very long
Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco Treat

Well if you remember that one you may remember this:

If you need a brand new car, go see Cal.
For the best deal by far, go see Cal.
If you want your payments low
If you want to save some dough

Go see Cal
Go see Cal
Go see Cal
And another candy jingle:

There are lots of chewy Rolos in a roll for you
If you’re choosy 'bout what you chew
Real milk chocolate, lots of caramel too
To chew chew chew chew chew chew chew

“LSMFT: Lucky Strikes Means Fine Tobacco!”

And then there’s the Winston ad(s) just for the kids!
