Definitely national; we got those in Houston as a kid, and we get them in Dallas now- we actually had them do our entryway and carpets in the house. They did a fine job, FWIW.
We see them that way in the Los Angeles area, too.
Sorry, but no. Those guys introduced the 100mm cigarette (at least in my head they did), which was copied in pretty short order by just about everybody.
The folks who got the bright idea to one-up them were Chesterfield.
Empire Carpets are now a national chain, but they used to be a local Chicago business, and their advertising jingle was 588 2 300, because back then, only people living in Chicago would call, and no area code was needed because the call wouldn’t have been long distance. The company expanded and kept their same iconic phone number with the toll free 800 added, and they squeezed the 800 in to their old jingle.
One I never forgot and didn’t hear again until youtube:
“Only Mustang makes it happen
Only mustang makes it great
Mustang moves you
Mustang grooves you
Mustang Mustang 68!”
Do you known
Exactly how to ear an Oreo?
Well, to do it
First you unscrew it
Very fast.
Because
Us ______________smokers would rather fight than switch.
Over, under, around and though. __________ travels pleasure to you.
Sorry if “Robert Hall” (really crappy clothes, at least by the 1960s) has already been posted but go to YouTube for the Les Paul/Mary Ford versions of its radio jingles–wonderful!!
Huh? :dubious:
Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight than switch.
That was a regular part of my life growing up.
