It’s skeevy no matter how you slice it. Back in my day, everybody just understood that it was creepy for 30 year olds to go around molesting high school girls (and even hypothetically just dating them without nailing them still pins the skeeve meter). I guess times have changed. At least on this board, nothing is creepy anymore. I say where is Javier Bardem with a cattle bolt when you need him?
That’s a bit harsh. We don’t know that they’ve been having intercourse since before she turned legal. We don’t even know if they’re having intercourse now. I like them both and I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

FWIW, MrWhatsit and I met when he was 30 and I was 18. I have no regrets. (And the last I checked, neither does he.)

When my father met my mother, he was 30 and she was 19. It’s eleven years, but it sounds like a lot more when you span a whole decade like that.
The age difference doesn’t matter so much now that he’s 70 and she’s 59.
age difference isnt skeevy unless is predatory in my book. if some little hottie wants to date an older guy shes attracted to they why does it matter? there is nothing to make you think he went after her because she was young and stupid and easy, christ her grandparents like the guy.

For some reason, I find this a slight overstatement. Twelve years is old enough to be her father now? I realize that some people have had kids at the age of 12, but not all that many. Maybe if he was 35 that statement would seem a little bit more reasonable.
