I asked a cop once what that t-shirt saying meant. He told me it meant “Up yours, kid.”
A quick check on the 'net indicates that, while “groly” usually seems to be a typo for “glory”, it’s also the name of a character created for the Japanese version of Sesame Street. Maybe that’s your connection:
