The local news stand had this incredible chocolate that melted instantly in your mouth. Very creamy and smooth. Like warm chocolate topping for ice cream.
I’ve struggled to remember the name. I think it might have been Ice Cubes? I’m not sure.
Haven’t seen them since my childhood in the 70’s. It wasn’t an expensive chocolate. If I remember correctly, it was the same price as any candy bar. But it was small. Approximately 2x2 inches and maybe 1/4 in thick. Similar to a Chunky but much thinner.
I found it! Never seen them in stores since my childhood.

I see those occasionally still around. I’m trying to remember where I last saw one. I feel like it may have been at the Mars Cheese Castle but, regardless, I’m pretty sure it was somewhere in Wisconsin.

Orange slices and circus peanuts are nostalgia candy? They have them at my local CVS.
I was telling my son last night as his xBox was updating some game that I used to load my Atari 800 computer with games at dinner time. Put the cassette in the player, start loading the game, go eat dinner, then play the game. Someday I’ll have to explain the allure of the text adventure.
Maybe I mis-spoke. It’s candy your grandma woulda liked, not necessarily nostalgic.
Mmm, Orange Slices
A guilty pleasure I buy maybe once a year. I know it’s mostly dissolved sugar mixed with gelatin. But that hint of orange is so good.
I never finish a bag. I’ll eat 5 or 6 slices as a serving for two or three days. That’s plenty.
Then I’m ok for another year.
I learned this from my mom. She’d buy her favorite sweet and satisfy a craving. Then toss out the rest.
Haha! I had a t-shirt with one of those on it…Rice-A-Phoney!!!

IIRC Cinna-Pix was the popular brand in the 1970’s. They were flat toothpicks.
Still available but they’re round now.

I do remember buying a tiny bottle of cinnamon oil and soaking my own toothpicks.
Rural king has them much cheaper.

OMG, I forgot about those. Yummmm-eeeee!
That is the one candy bar from my 1950’s childhood I’d love to see again. It was my favorite by far.
They stopped making one of my favorite childhood candies, Regal Crown Sour Cherry. But they’re back and they are sold at Amazon !

The Ice Cubes I remember were about 1x1 inch and maybe 3/4 inch thick. But you accurately described the taste.
I think they had a drawing of a friendly little polar bear on the package.
