Now she’s gone. I’ve been through losing cats before. It never gets easier.
Please Mods, if you could change the red font in the name Flaherty to black in the attached thread, I would appreciate it. I guess I slipped up and forgot after searching.

Thank you friends. While I knew she had been declining for a few months, what with her weight loss and bad kidney numbers, her demise was a little unexpected. Over last weekend she began chewing but spitting out food. Then, on Monday she refused breakfast. I took her to the vet, and they told me she was dehydrated. I left her there overnight for fluids and antibiotics for a bladder infection they discovered. On Tuesday, she rapidly deteriorated. I left work so that I could be there as they put her to sleep.
At eighteen, my cats tend to leave me for the next life in their nine.
I’m so sorry for your loss. My canine best friend is 15 and somewhat frail. I’m grateful for every day with him.
