Reminder: The 4400's new season starts 7/17

Some of the writing’s been kinda cheesy, and I get the impression the writers aren’t always quite sure where they want to go with the show. I think the show would greatly benefit from someone saying “yes, you get two more seasons.” Or, “no, we really mean it this time, you’re done after this season. Wrap things up.”

I do like the show a lot, though.

Yeah, Kyle seems to read a hellofa lot out of that text, and he seems sure everyone on the list who takes the shot survives. But I don’t think the text says that.

Of course, his red-headed “ability” seems to know just about everything.

Looks like you were right about Isabelle. I wonder what would happen if one of the marked did get the shot. The people who decided Tom needed to get the shot wouldn’t have known he’d become one of the marked right?

I thought that the trick with Lily was a pretty cruel thing to do with Richard.

I don’t think so. Richard realized at the end that he was really only talking to himself, whether spawned from his own power or helped along by some other 4400’s power. Last night’s revelations seem to suggest more than two power vying for control.

This last one was a great episode. It started out stupid though. I just about gagged with that dialogue between Tom and Slut-Whore. “My son was right there, in my grasp, I could have captured him.” “Oh honey-bunny, if I weren’t such an evil Slut-Whore who never managed to actually have a kid I’d feign understanding, but instead I’ll just say 'what could you have done? Suck face with me some more and come back to bed, Boy-Toy.”

The rest of it was great though. The Vulcan “your mind is my mind” thing with Marco was pretty funny, until you realize that’s not Tom anymore.

Okay, I have a question about the latest ep. The girl with the multi-colored dye job, the one who’s giving a special birthday parental visit to Maia? What was her ability? Is she the one doing it, or someone else at the compound?

They didn’t mention her ability, and from her conversation on the phone with Maia it was implied that she needed someone else to set up the “birthday gift.” I think we’re to assume the person responsible was the wheelchair guy that Kyle got to put the whammy on Richard last episode.

It was my impression that the gift came from wheelchair-guy as well.

I remember the multi-dyed girl from last season, when she was re-abducted by the future, along with Maia and two other 4400 kids. I don’t remember what her specific ability was, however.

Wow, episode 12 was good. Heroes good. Only one more episode??
I’m not too worried about Tom. Who knows what the writers will do, but what I’d is grab Shawn, get him to heal the bullet wounds, then use the radiation on him, have Shawn heal that too, then Tom’s back.

Of course Shawn’s not going to be real happy. His stupid brother just had to take the shot, and apparently his ability is instant bleed-out. Great. And his own mother is his first victim.
Every season there seem to be questions as to whether or not the show will be renewed, but they better renew it for sure next season. Way too much cool stuff going on.

Was it my imagination, or did the mother bleed out in the same manner as Shawn’s assistant when she took the promycin? Could Danny’s ability be to tell who can or can’t take the shot?

I definitely agree.

She bled out just like someone who can’t take the shot. Because Danny’s ability is to infect someone with promycin without giving them a shot. He’s a promycin Typhoid Mary.

Hopefully, it means they’ll kill off Danny, because he’s been a whiny git since he first showed up.

Also, here’s hoping the women get their brains back for the finale, because they sure didn’t have them in this episode ('cept Maia). Diana & La Dolche Vida Chick got coldcocked how many times by Evil!Tom using the same damn ruse? La Dolche Vida Chick I could see that; she’s a nitwit. But Diana? But based on the previews, it looks like

Killer Isabelle is back. And not happy… with the Marked Lady. Fun!

Wow, I didn’t get that at first. I was thinking that she’d taken the shot at some point, and I’d missed it.

Actually he’d be perfect for Jordan’s movement. He could force promycin on the people on the list who need to get the shot for the revolution to start. I was hoping he was going to die too though.

I don’t know why they didn’t just shoot him with a tranquilizer in the beginning and give him the plutonium while he was knocked out.

Hm, interesting ideas both. I was simply thinking he’s the anti-Shawn. They kind of alluded to it, saying “hey we could have two healers in the family.” So I figured he’s a regular quick-acting Typhoid Mary. Hadn’t though about the promycin angle. I totally forgot what people look like when promycin doesn’t work.

Yeah, I was laughing at that too. C’mon gals, why are you letting Tom get within ten feet of you when you know? “Don’t come any closer.” Gets closer. “Don’t come any closer!” Gets closer. Smack!

Wow. Now that was a (season) finale. Or maybe a (series) finale.
The return of Killer Isabelle. The death of Danny (managing to be even more of a whiny ass, no less). Meghan getting a 4400 ability that is just as useless as she is. JC in charge, Tom and Diana hugging, Tom crying, Tom & Kyle & Sean man-hugging.

Garrity checking out another guy… who turns out to be himself. So he’s got a good chance of getting a date, I guess.

And the surviving not-pretty Geek Squad guy doesn’t survive. While the new Geek Squad hot chick does. Because only good-looking people get 4400 abilities, apparently. :dubious:
Ah, well. Wonder if it’ll be renewed?
I thought the exact same thing about Meghan’s ability!

I was surprised by the death of Isabelle; I thought her super-abilities would figure importantly in however the future turns out.

I also liked Diana’s horrified reaction to Maia’s pronouncement about Jordan being “a good guy”, and her subsequent “we’re in charge now; it’s better that way”. For a long time Diana has been in denial about Maia’s sense of connection to the 4400 movement.
I sure hope it’s renewed; as far as I know, there’s been no official word from USA Network. I remember hearing a while ago that the creators had five seasons of story to tell; I hope the network lets them complete their vision.

Good call about Danny, that was right on.

Now I’m not sure I want the show renewed or not. I do, but at the same time - wow. How are they going to resolve everything that’s happened now?

I could almost live with this ending.

I’m sad they killed off one of our long-term geeks :frowning: The other deaths I’m okay with. I wouldn’t be surprised if Isabelle isn’t really gone forever, though

I hope it is renewed, it’s been more interesting the last few episodes than the last few seasons. It seems as they’ve renewed their sense of plot purpose lately.

YOU DIDN’T MENTION THAT THE GEEK Of GEEKS -marco-GETS THE NEATEST OF ALL POWERS - TELEPORTATION

Best season ever. It started out kind of slow, but, man, they ended it very well indeed. I’d also be okay if this turned out to be the series finale – it’s going to be hard to top this.

One loose end – Kyle’s ability:

So was Cassie(?) somehow implanted by the Marked, perhaps when Kyle was under their control? Or is Cassie actually a legitimate 4400 ability, and this is the outcome she wanted all along? Seems kind of circuitous, but it did end up putting Jordan in a very good place.

I’m curious about how his ability works…for his sake, I hope it’s not a matter of “think about a place and you end up there”. If that’s the case, he better not have any interest in astronomy, deep sea exploration, plate tectonics, etc…
