I’ve got a paper map that I had laminated then put on my wall. It looks nice when the light is right, but when there’s a lot of light (most of the day), there’s a really annoying glare on it. I’m sure there’s some easy way to get rid of the glare, but I have no idea where to look.
take it down and lightly go over it with a brillo pad and some amonia clenser. That will score it lightly if you are careful in not applying too much pressure.
I believe that Testors model supplies make a spray-on anti-glare coating for when you have a painted model that needs to be matte. Look for it in a hobby shop, and test it on the reverse first.
It’s hard to achieve good results with the brillo pad and ammonia method. Depending on the plastic, you can get lots of closely spaced parallel scratches that glare at you in an annoying swirling pattern.
I’ve seen spray-on anti-glare spray at art stores. Check there if the hobby shop doesn’t have it.
HA! Thanks for the advice, I’ve got some spray-on matte finish for miniatures that I didn’t even think about before you two mentioned it.
