I have a framed print, and the glass covering it reflects too much light, & reduces my enjoyment of the print.
How to dull the glass, without hurting the print?

Put it on a different wall.
Close the blinds/drapes on the window that’s creating the glare.
Lay it on a flat surface for a few weeks so it gets dusty.
Remove the glass so just the mat is holding it in. If the picture itself isn’t shiny, there shouldn’t be much glare at all at that point.
Get a can of clear matte spray finish at your hardware store and try spraying that on the glass.
While you’re at the hardware store, also pick up something that’ll take the finish off the glass if it doesn’t work so good.
Or, a sheet of clear laminating plastic, if the matte spray doesn’t work. Don’t know how less shiny it will be, though.
A good frame shop can easily change the glass to non-glare glass or plastic.
Yes, there are DIY sprays to dull glass but you need to take the glass out of the frame first, and unless you’re an expert with spray cans, it’s probably not going to look very good. Also, the finish is fairly fragile.
Any other suggestions?
I’ve gone the frame-shop route and it worked great, but was pricey.
Non-glare glass or plastic will do it.
Museums and galleries rarely use these because they tend to obscure the details of the artwork. They control the light instead. If you’re not able to control your light, non-glare is the better solution for you.
