Renaldo becomes a dad - does this release sound odd?

It’s been announced that Christiano Ronaldo had become a father, but while I can understand the woman’s desire to remain anonymous, the wording of the release sounds odd. Does this sound like a surrogate situation?

One of my friends mentioned “he pulled a Ricky Martin”, which I found funny.

But I mentioned that, hey, at least Ricky was older and looked more mature and ready to settle down and truly raise those kids.

I wonder, though, if what happened was that he knocked up the equivalent of a high school student. That would help explain the mom both wanting to remain anonymous and give up guardianship. And before somebody else mentions it, the age of consent is probably lower in at least some of the countries where he has played than in the US (and he’s only 25).

I did wonder whether he was livin la vida loca. But Boy From Mars assures me he’s not gay (or at least is well known for dating women). We then thought it might be a money thing. Just an unusual situation, normally the woman raises the baby.
