Rename my radio show!

For the last two years I’ve been the host of Spaceship of Fools, a semi-weekly show on a local community station. I took the show (and title) over from a couple of friends of mine, and while their playlist was almost exclusively jamband/Dead-inspired, I’ve gradually shifted the emphasis to new indie rock.

My friends have finally decided that they’re not going to be able to come back anytime soon, so they asked if I wanted to rename the show and make it “officially” mine. I really want to do this because I want to reserve the Spaceship of Fools name in case they’re ever able to come back and do a jamband show again.

The only problem–I have no idea what to call it. Some info:

–The focus, as I said, is new indie rock. The first hour of each week is almost always brand new or even pre-release tracks. I can play pretty much anything, though; the last show started with an hour of Isaac Hayes, for instance.

–We’re up in the mountains of eastern Kentucky.

–Some other nighttime shows: Holler to the Hood (hip-hop), Greg’s Rock Show, The Evershow (mostly metal, comes on after mine), Lost in the Woulds (classic rock), Bluegrass Express, the Lost Kitten Broadcast (metal, I think).

–I’d like it to be easy to remember and to lend itself well to a logo. I’m going to make up some flyers and business cards and such and really push the new brand.

Thanks in advance!

There was a radio show in the mid-90s on the local college station Bozottica.
Fool’s Delight?
Razoredge?

Indie Rockslide? I seem to remember seeing lots of “Watch for Fallen Rock” (or was that ‘falling rock’) signs on a trip through E. Kentucky about 15 years ago.

You need something with snob appeal, and some kind of nominal claim that your show is intended for grownups, not kids (This, of course, will make it appealing to pretentious, alienated teenagers, your demographic goldmine). My suggestions:

Music Snob
Lonesome Fugitive
One Headlight
Black Slacks
Full Frontal Audio

I had only one occur to me – Alt Shift.

Rock Troll
Magma (It’s Liquid Rock!)
Sturm and Drang
Meteoric

Oooh, I like that one! Very punny.

So, Doc, what did you decide?

So much great stuff here–thanks!

Stuff I like so far: The Rockslide (shortened that one a bit), Daydream Nation, and Alt Shift. A suggestion I liked from elsewhere was Hot Wax.

Right now, though, I’m leaning toward The Zen Arcade.
