People wonder why a board that dedicated to fighting ignorance skews left - I think the rampant anti-science nature of the right might be a primary factor. In my own personal opinion, that could be what turns me off the most about the GOP.
I don’t see why he/she felt to need to inject race into the discussion (though the two woman he mentioned are profound idiots), but I think be “our guys” he means republicans in congress. I also think it’s a stretch to say that all members on one side are smarter than two members on the other, but if you’re talking about the two he mentioned you’re on fairly safe ground.
I’ve seen more kids get an “F” for blowing off their school work then I’ve ever seen pass from grade to grade without learning anything. Not sure your straw-man has actually “found acceptance within the liberal community.”
I wouldn’t be at all surprised it it were a predominantly conservative idea. Let’s take another look at the OP’s quote of Kingston saying “I don’t believe something crawled out of the ocean and turned into a human.” in the context of ego. Whose self-esteem is threatened by the teaching of evolution by natural selection in public schools?
But let me provide a data point in SA’s favor: He was apparently allowed to graduate despite demonstrating (in this thread alone) alarming defects in reading, writing and reasoning abilities.
(PS: Anyone have the over/under on SA posting his traditional “The fact that people are insulting me must mean that you can’t handle my arguments” twaddle?)
