I think this happened to me once before, but forgot why. Anhoo, in IMHO, I posted a reply to the thread about talking to old people about dying. All I got was ta blank post with no text. Tried to edit, same thing.
Started all over again, still no text. Wassup?
Can some mod fix this and make is possible for me to post there again?
It’s fixed. It was the same problem, repeated again and again, a goofed up end-quote tag. I’m not sure why the system did/does that, but it’s an easy fix.
Right! Thanks, somebody posted explaining about the quotes in that thread after I posted here. I’ll try to remember in the future, but you know, we dying old geezers have awful memories.
I’m not sure that preview helps in this situation. Reply shows the text, so does edit. What’s odd is that it only happens in fairly long (quoted or original) replies.
After testing, preview does not help. I replied to KlondikeGeoff’s reply, took off the /quote, added a bunch of Test Test Test, and on preview it displayed, after submission, it was blank.
I actually thought of that while I was restoring the posts, I did delete one, but I left the other two… in part because others had commented on “What’s up?”
No prob with deleting in that case.
And I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that this problem doesn’t even appear on preview. Maybe the next version will fix it.
My bad, I really didn’t preview, although I did try to edit one. Even at my advanced age, I still am so impatient, usually don’t preview. One reason, of course, is that it seems to take an inordinately long time for the preview to come up, and even longer to post it afterwards.
I’ll consider studying Zen to improve my impatience.
