The most interesting point I see of this is Santos could certainly start naming names if he actually had any actionable dirt on anyone.

I think at this point, Santos could come with a ton of evidence, and nobody would believe a word he said.

Plus, given all the info that started coming out as soon as Santos was elected, I would bet that the Republican Congress folk were keeping their distance from him from the start, to protect themselves. If so, he wouldn’t have any dirt to spill.

So far the general R congressman’s reaction has been “Yeah, so. Bring your nothingburger if you want. I don’t care.”

Which to me is a bit surprising. I’d have expected a more craven approach from the other Rs.

We don’t know what their real reaction is until the vote is taken. I could easily see plenty of R’s falling back on “but he wasn’t convicted yet.” Speaker Johnson has already blazed that trail.

100%. He’s a first-term Congressman who was almost immediately treated as radioactive by his colleagues. I rather doubt he got invited to any lobbyist-funded cocaine-and-orgies parties.

I doubt he has anything he can hold over anyone’s head. It’s not like he was an insider that other Republicans were bringing in on their deal making. Santos is a first term Congressman and his legal problems started almost immediately.

Santos has already spoken for himself as has the Republican head of the ethics committee.

If even a fraction of what Clay Higgins (R-LA 3rd) just said about Santos is true (hint: it isn’t), I’d want Santos to be the Executor of my Will and Godfather to my hypothetical kids.
