Representative George Santos: Indictment and Prosecution (Expelled from Congress on Dec 1, 2023)

LOL and thanks for the good wishes, but I’m not running!

And I was confused too as to why Tom Suozzi, the Dem nominee campaigning to replace Santos and take back his own old seat, is piggybacking on Seth Moulton’s campaign. Moulton has represented Massachusetts’s 6th congressional district since 2015; here’s his bio: Biography | Congressman Seth Moulton

I hate that I love this.

Republicans have chosen their candidate to run in the special election to replace Santos:

All I have to say is that I hope they ran a check on this one.

I’m sure the press won’t be derelict in their duty this time.

It sounds like the biggest opposition research issue with the GOP candidate so far is that she’s a registered Democrat. I don’t know exactly how party registration works in New York State, but in my state, I don’t think it matters.

As for the press being derelict in 2022, this is both true and exaggerated. Here is an editorial from the normally GOP North Shore Leader endorsing Santos’s Democratic opponent:

That paper missed the sheer volume of lies, but got to the heart of it.

As for the New York City media, in their small amount of coverage of this suburban race, the problem is that they focused on the novelty of the race being between two gay men, IMHO an utter irrelevancy.

That should say “Allegedly”, there.

Robert Zimmerman?? Zimmy? Bobby? Lucky (Wilbury)?

Wait, so the only paper that caught on to Santos before he was elected was a Republican one?

Chief? McCLOUD!

(my apologies for the truly obscure reference and hijack)

I don’t know. There are a bunch of weeklies to check. But I checked the Zimmerman endorsement in Newsday, the major Long Island daily, and they don’t mention any Santos lying except concerning Zimmerman’s position on bail:

Robert Zimmerman for New York’s 3rd Congressional District

Here’s a weekly that missed it:

Great Neck Record: Congressional Third District Race

And USA Today also missed it:

First congressional race between two gay nominees marks progress for LGBTQ candidates

Nothing is ever really obscure here.

Man, I love this place.

We used to have an attorney here in town who would run for DA under whichever party the current DA was not. He never won, but it was amusing to see him switch parties so shamelessly.

Classic episode. Even a Donald Trump reference!

That episode especially, we played the following for nearly 4 years straight:

George just announced on X hes running again.

He was at the State of the Union Address tonight, taking advantage of his privilege as a former Member of Congress to be on the House floor.

You expect us to believe George Santos is running for office again just because George Santos says he is?
