My cat, Batman, is now roughly 6 months old. He is a big black tom, very affectionate, and has been an excellent big brother to Angel, a feral we took in at the same time. Lately, however, he has become more and more aware of the outside world, which just ain’t safe round here… and tomorrow, at precisely 10.30am BST, he’ll be snipped. Vasectomised. Speyed. Neutered. Tube-tied. He will be an ex-lovecat.
I’m opening this thread because I feel it’s my civic duty to allow him one last chance of a reprieve. If anyone has a good reason why Batman should be permitted to keep his wedding tackle, please post it here. Please bear in mind that any kittens resulting from future dalliances will be used as a cheap alternative to turkey at Christmas.
ps: after 10.30am, any messages of condolence for Batman, particularly from males in similar positions, should be posted here too.
If I were the Judge in this case, he’d be facing the scissors in the morning. There’s plenty of little kitties out there without contributing to the problem.
Welcome to the world of the sterile, Batman. Remember to pick up a bag of frozen peas on your way home from the doctor, it does wonders at keeping the swelling down.
Ross - a question for you: After my vasectomy I had to take in two semen samples and have them examined to make sure that I was, in fact, successfully snipped. Would you mind sharing how you’re going to obtain the samples from your cat?
Well, that’s that. He’s back, unamused and very sleepy. Angel has taken to bouncing things off Batman’s head while he has the chance. There are no obvious problems but Batman himself, in a half-miaow, seemed to be asking me to give you all his thanks and best wishes for your messages of support. He wishes me to assure plnnr that his wotsits have actually been physically removed, and so the chances of an unsuccessful op are minimal. He also assures me that I’ll be in line for a very similar operation, conducted without anaesthetic, as soon as he’s got his strength back.
Consequently I shall now be departing for Guatemala where I intend to live as a shepherd. Good day to you.
