Republican Fund-raising in India

A few weeks ago I asked about a strange rumor I’d heard about government jobs being outsourced to Asia during a recession. A lot of people struck me as being bizzarely OK with the idea and I spitballed on the polical implications (I have noticed that when groups get too much power they tend to justify the theories of their most hated advesaries). I came back a day later to find out that the thread had been closed and I was being threatened with expulsion by a certain trigger-happy moderator who, apparently being something of a mindreader, stated that I was only looking for an excuse to make a fuss over politics.

Wouldn’t you know it, the story actually turns out to be true — almost:

It turns out that Republicans are turning to India so they can do fundraising on the cheap.

I leave interpreting the significance of this to others since I wouldn’t want to defile the Straight Dope Message Board with the stain of politics. After all, this is supposed to be for people with lively intellects and a strong curiosity about real life. How could politics ever be relevent when discussing factual information?

Hm. Perhaps now might be a good time to announce my retirement?

What’s the question here?

The OP might provide a good starting point for a political debate concerning whether or not political parties should “buy american.”
I’m not sure why braintree’s put it here in GQ, unless he’s looking for a suicide-by-mod experience.

Well, it’s a factual answer, which is the other half of GQ. But it would be a natural for GD.

There is no factual question here. If you have something to debate, do so in the Great Debates forum. If you want to take issue with a moderator’s decision, do so by e-mail or in the BBQ Pit.
