Republicans can just go straight to fucking hell

Republicans are tolerated. What they want is to be coddled. “There should be special rules for me because I don’t like gay people.” “Abortion should be illegal because I don’t like it.” “Muslims should be barred from entering the US because they scare me!” “Football players who don’t sing to flags should be fired because I want them to sing to flags!” And so on.

If so, he should trade it in for some irony supplements.

Nixon was the ultimate evil. He threw any attempts at healthcare reform in the trash, he bombed Cambodia without permission, he established Schedule I and the DEA, the EPA, the Endangered Species Act, the – wait a minute there …

Seems like it’s been getting literal

I don’t like it.

Instead of committing acts of violence, may I suggest that people instead read a lot, compose their thoughts on word processor or whatever, then try to verbally convince their friends to 1. vote and 2. vote the way they want. Get organized, get the word out, get in touch with people and get everybody voting.

If that succeeds, then after these people win the election they will have reams of ideas about what to do with their influence as they have written them all down beforehand. Hopefully those ideas aren’t fucking stupid. Please think it through, folks!

I guess my proposed line does not preclude being mean to republicans- the leader of the GOP is now apparently defending a princely Saudi murderer for money, and McConnell says he’ll pay for his tax cuts with Social Security and Medicare- but no violence, please.

Here’s another nice example of the sentiment expressed in this thread:

And some more:

My thoughts:

You can say what you want. You are not responsible for the behavior of others who share your sentiments.

Again, I voted against Trump and for Obama once. I was looking forward to voting the Democrat line in November.

However, I am against hate. It’s dangerous and non constructive. If this continues and escalates, I think people will get killed and we will lose freedom. I don’t think it’s right to reward or give in to this behavior.

Unfortunately, I think these attitudes are very mainstream.

Trump does not justify this.

I will be voting against Democrats.

Yes, I put the same link up twice. Sorry.

This is the one I wanted:

I can just imagine the rear running down Scylla’s face as he is forced to pull the lever for R.

Wait…you are voting against Democrats because some guy yelled at some lady?

I mean, like “I know I’m for health care for all and education and stuff, but there is a video of some random guy yelling at some random lady on the Internet, so fuck the poor and elderly!”???

You say this like Republican hate isn’t already killing people, and stripping freedoms.

You’re riled up because some lady got grabbed and pushed.

I’m riled up because some guy is dying of undiagnosed Type II diabetes, or hypertension, or some other silent killer that’s going to shave years off his life because he can’t afford to see a doctor, OR pay for the treatment he would need.

Vote for a Republican, pretend that you’re a stand-up guy, who’s against violence and wants us all to live in peace together. Just know that you’re killing the guy I’m riled up about, every bit as much as if you pushed him off a building.

Voting for the party that’s stood much closer to the hateful and violent in the last few years, in order to show opposition to hate and violence, seems kinda not smart.

I’m not talking about the past. I am talking about where the hate and violence is coming from now.

I have not seen anything like this in my entire life.

I’m talking about the present too – a present in which the President praises white supremacists (who planned for violence, engaged in deadly violence, and then congratulated themselves for that violence), uses violent rhetoric, excuses violence from others, with no significant criticism or opposition from the Republican party, and plenty of praise and support. In the present, the GOP, utterly dominated by its president, is far closer to the hateful and violent than the Democratic party. The vast majority of Democratic party leaders have explicitly rejected any violent rhetoric, praise for the violent, and excuses for the violent. The majority of Republican office-holders have repeatedly praised and expressed support for someone who uses violent rhetoric and praises and excuses the violent.

Right now, in the immediate present, the Republican party is much closer to hate and violence than the Democratic party. It’s not just Trump. It’s the entire party, most of whom enable and praise and support Trump, over and over and over again.

I have made my sentiments onTrump and his comments of a year ago, abundantly clear. I believe that applies as well to the Nazi who drove into the crowd.

I think race relations and tolerance went from pretty good to awful because of the left’s obsession with identity politics, intersectionality, and grievance. They are and have been responsible for the current tide of hate. The vast majority of incidents involving hate speech, destruction of property, violence are all coming from the left.

You, a reasonable person, are defending it in a This thread. Have you expressed your condemnation for the sentiments expressed here? Have you called out the hate and violence?

“But Trump” is not an excuse.
