Republicans: candidate who assaulted reporter is fine with us!

Funny, you didn’t post in the Terrorist Bombing thread. Yet you posted in here! It’s as if you’re a hypocrite piece of shit!

You seem surprised.

Body count is only one measure of the importance of a story.

Killing the messenger too. How far the mighty :stuck_out_tongue: have fallen.

You need to show that those were not their words when quoted and that the group the Huffington post is quoting from is a partisan one.

In any case:

I can count 4 or more climate change denier arguments in those few sentences. As pointed out, most Republicans in congress that are claiming to follow good intentions are either lying or naive and are paving the road to hell.

Why in the fuck would you think that’s a measure of the outrage? Maybe this thread has more posts because there are people minimizing the event and there’s an argument, while it’s pretty universally agreed that bombing a concert is bad.

Is the world more fun or more terrifying to live in when you’re a colossal idiot?

Gianforte assaulted someone, someone asking a question. Someone smaller than him. Someone who was not attacking him.

I don’t give a fuck what someone else may have done or not done, yesterday or 20 years ago. It’s irrelevant here.

It is unprovoked assault. All else is bullshit.

Stop the “both sides” fucking bullshit. This guy is a thug and a bully. He should be in jail.

Why, exactly? A first time misdemeanor usually doesn’t result in jail time, AS HAS ALREADY BEEN EXPLAINED IN THIS THREAD.

Are you not paying attention?

Definitely.

Creationism. Climate change denialism. Trickle-down economics (yes, this belongs on the same damn list). A number of positions that actually encourage abortion, just not safe or legal abortion - like the dogged determination to get rid of planned parenthood. Being the party of Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, Breitbart News, Alex Jones, and, yes, Greg Gianforte.

I’m trying to understand just how horrible one has to consider the opposing party, how utterly evil they would have to be, for “Well, my side is bad, but those guys…” to apply in this situation. It’s nuts.

He can possibly face six months in jail.

Montana Code § 45-5-201 states that the punishment for misdemeanor assault is a fine of up to $500 and a jail sentence of up to six months.
Gianforte must appear in Gallatin County Justice Court between now and June 7.

It’s up to the judge.

Well, you see…

Well jolly good for you. And I don’t have a problem with that. Unless you physically attack me for asking questions about it, and throw me to the floor.

Oh wait, I forgot - as a Republican, you’re allowed to do that once. You get a “freebie” assault before anyone can judge you. And also, if you were to attack me, your defense would be that some Democrat did that before, so it’s OK.

It is like if Winston Churchill had a guy like Bricker in mind when he said:

“Occasionally he stumbled over the truth but he always picked himself up and hurried on as if nothing had happened.”

Was the question about CBO of Health Bill, or investments, or Russia.

I heard Health bill. Am I wrong?

I don’t think it knows the meaning of the words it writes.

That’s a great mind reading trick you have there. Can you tell what card I’m holding in my hand right now?

So your thesis is that you know what others think, and how they will react at any given time. And they don’t. Quite astounding.

I’m not sure. Please tell me.

CBO. The candidate had stated he would not give an opinion on the AHCA until the CBO score came out. The score was released earlier in the day, and given that the election was the next day, the reporter asked about it. Gianforte replied along the lines of “Later.” The reporter responded “There IS no later”, began to ask another question (along the same lines IIRC) and was interrupted with assault.

The candidate culturally appropriated Antifa’s anti free speech traits. He was the muscle that nutty professor Melissa Click was looking for. He is the personification of the meme freedom of press is not freedom from a power bomb.

Well, if the bomber turns out to be a Republican, then Bricker will defend his actions “it was just one bombing” and the post count will go up.
