Sweeping anti-trans bill, SB244, has been passed in Kansas over the Democratic governor’s veto, and Kansas is now sending out letters to transgender people in the state compelling them to forfeit their driver’s licenses and have them replaced with ones that match their sex assigned at birth. If they don’t, they could face fines and jail time.
Trans Kansans also cannot use public restrooms or locker rooms matching their gender identity, and bounty-style lawsuits have been implemented to prevent them from doing so.
What are the odds this also affects their ability to vote by making “acceptable” IDs difficult to obtain?
A reminder that the Nazis also began revoking government IDs for trans people almost immediately after taking power in 1933. It was 1938 before they did the same for Jews.

The Trump administration’s newest horror: forcibly detransitioning trans people in prison while subjecting them to what is effectively “conversion therapy”.

Forcing someone to change their identity while imprisoned is a blatant violation.
