Chris Rock - How Not to Get Your Ass Kicked by the Police
Sure its culturally specific in places and played for laughs but theres a lot of truth in it as well.
Yup. Chris Rock.
That was awesome!
As I’ve grown older, one of the beliefs I’ve done a complete “180” on is obesity. This video by a doctor on cause/effect is pretty moving. I don’t have a weight problem but I’ve become very sympathetic to those who do. This is a very moving account from a doctor who arrived at the same conclusion.
Summary from the site:
*As a young surgeon, Peter Attia felt contempt for a patient with diabetes. She was overweight, he thought, and thus responsible for the fact that she needed a foot amputation. But years later, Attia received an unpleasant medical surprise that led him to wonder: is our understanding of diabetes right? Could the precursors to diabetes cause obesity, and not the other way around? A look at how assumptions may be leading us to wage the wrong medical war. *
It should mandatory for every citizen to watch every legal execution performed in the country.
Team America: World Police. Every American must view this movie in entirety at least once a year. Twice if you’re military or a politician.
Just put it on PPV and we could balance the budget.

Okay. I gotta ask. What sort of kid are you raising if you have to advise him to keep his mouth shut and get a good criminal attorney?
I had my kids watch Scent of a Woman for the ending portion at the Prep school. They were having issues with the idea of protecting some so-called friends who were actually screwing them over. They got the message.
I have a Dean’s list, Honor program, community engaged son who I’ve told this to since he was a young teen. If the police stop him I tell him to cooperate, not get argumentative, give the police no reason to think he’s resisting arrest and to say nothing except confirm his identity and to please call his parents (when he was a minor) or please call his attorney.
He’s a really good kid, but life isn’t always fair and really good kids get screwed sometimes. My job is to protect him.
Now I feel like I’m failing as a parent. ![]()
All I taught my kids was what to do if the dashboard lights up like a christmas tree.
That’s ok- you can ask my son to enumerate the countless ways I screwed up. ![]()
In my world, it would not be optional. It would be compulsory, a la Clockwork Orange, if necessary.
If it’s required, isn’t mandating it redundant? Just sayin’.
Anyway. Embrace Life(seatbelt PSA).
A teenager.
Another one for any teenager learning to drive.
Tim Minchin was awarded an honorary doctorate by The University of Western Australia.
His speech at the commencement should be seen:
Now you see why I don’t teach English.
…And every citizen who believes that abortions should be legal should be forced to watch an actual abortion taking place. In real time. Fun times!
