I had the unfortunate experiance of dealing with microsoft tech support when they decided my copy of office that I got free from the torturous new day event was stolen. After assuring them I actually got the copy from microsoft, not out of the back of a pickup truck at first saturday in dallas I get this email
Well…I let her know she misunderstood…that it was office that having a problem
at this point I decided to try one last time to remove and re-install office. I did so and it wouldn’t activate because it said it had now been installed too many times. I gave up on email support and called them. After half an hour of explaining where I got the DVD i finally got them to give me a code to type in to make it work. I then emailed the tech back to explain it was now fixed.
So finally, I get through that its office and not Windows…but how the hell did they know about my bathroom issues?
I love the idea of online chat customer service. However, it is always fucking worthless. I am sure they are making the reps respond to about 10 different customers at once and the answers are completely irrelevant for this reason (they’re just choosing the closest predefined response they can figure, they’re not actually tracking the conversation).
