This is getting weird.
The plot, or the repeats situation?
Anyway, the next new episode will be shown at 10pm (ET) instead of at 11pm; this is on Friday July 4. I guess they’re burning off these episodes? (Given that the 4th of July isn’t that big a ‘television night.’)
I’m still enjoying the show—though very aware that they are trying to pair characters off in a somewhat artificial way as they head toward the finale.
The plot. (Said after watching 4x04.)
Well, I can’t argue. That said, shouldn’t a sci-fi show be at least somewhat weird?
Is anyone else still watching this?
Speaking of weird, why did they bring Jewel Staite in as an actor, only to use her of maybe 2-3 minutes of screen time? Was Alan Tudyk doing her a favor, like she needed work for insurance coverage, or something?
Who did she play in the show?
The briefly seen FBI agent. I think she said she was a profiler.
She’s been steadily working, so I doubt this was a insurance coverage favor. I suspect we’ll see more of her in upcoming episodes.
I may need to re-watch.
It’s really brief, like “Blink and you miss it” brief. Two appearances over two episodes so far, and the most recent was just to say, “Meh, we think the ‘serial killer’ has moved on, so we’re winding down our part in the local investigations.”
Unless she turns out to be a Mantid, or something, such a waste.
I still watch it, but I think that it has vastly decreased in quality. The “alien energy” and the “harvesting souls” and various other idiotic plot points, it is bordering on being genuinely bad. Tudyk is the only thing that saves it now.
We’ve been watching other things. We caught a couple of the most recent episodes and weren’t following the plot very well, so I don’t think we’ll bother to continue.
Yep, me and the wife. We are two epis behind, tho. This season hasnt been as good.
Yes, given that the season isn’t over, the writers may have something more interesting for her to do. (On the other hand, her appearance could have been nothing more than a gift for Firefly fans.)
I’m still enjoying it. There’s always some drop-off when the priority becomes NOT ‘how can we expand this fictional universe’ but instead ‘how can we wrap up all these storylines and keep the fans reasonably happy.’
The latter is notoriously tricky to accomplish.
Yeah, but not as eagerly as before. Still fun.
For whatever reason the USA app that I was watching on last week said I need to sign onto Paramount to see the next app. Which I don’t have. I took it as the time to not bother watching anymore.
She lives in Vancouver so she is close to where they film. She currently stars in a comedy-drama set in Vancouver called Family Law so as far as know she’s not starved for work. I have a feeling we’ll see more of her later.
Peacock, not Paramount I suspect.
I believe you can also watch on CTV SciFi if you’re in Canada.
I’m on vacation for two weeks, so I’ve been bingeing the show for a rewatch. There’s an issue with the beginning of S2 that has me confused. Harry is driving Max (somewhere) in his truck and Max is demanding to be taken home. Max grabs the steering wheel, leading to the crash that presumably lands Harry in the hospital in Braddock with amnesia. This is obviously after Harry turns his spacecraft around upon discovering that Max has stowed away.
Also, we see that Harry has protected Max from injury when the craft has crashed into the Patience baseball field (again, after Harry’s abortive trip home).
How can both scenarios have taken place?
I’m up to S4 ep 5. My wild-ass guess is Judy turns out to also be an alien as is her family, since she’s basically as awkward as Harry is.
I have a weird feeling her presence sort of softened up the rest of the town to just having weirdos around and treating them normal.
