The truck is the ship. That’s the joke.
It’s cancelled, by the way.
Ugh; thanks. This season hasn’t been as great as earlier ones, but it’s still one of my favorite current shows.
I thought that was known by the time this season started? That it would be the last? That’s why everything seems rushed and all these characters are being crammed in all episodes.
Maybe it was known and I just missed that news… ![]()
Here’s a topic for another thread: Shows that if they had been renewed would have limped through one last mediocre season.
Nope.
Well known to the showrunner anyway.
it was “creatively…exciting” to go into the season knowing it was likely the show’s last, “because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending.”
“Mine Town” was a great episode and a great build up for the final two eps. The Mantid is Liv? Gah! I think Robert was the Mantid when he visited her in the office.
I think that’s right. She hasn’t been the Mantid all along, of course.
(The actress was probably pleased at the development.)
I would have watched any new seasons made (had they been shown where I could afford to watch). However, much as I’ve enjoyed the basic premise, plots, and supporting performers, I’ve been along for the ride mainly to see Alan Tudyk.
I hope he does another series!
Tudyk is, of course, impeccable — but the sheriff is amazing.
Resident Alien found a second (and I believe larger) audience on Netflix. Any chance Netflix picks up the show and produces another season or two? Compare how Lucifer started on Fox for three seasons, got cancelled, and moved over to Netflix for three more seasons.
EDIT: The Orville was another show that did something like this.
It would be nice if Netflix or someone else picked up the show. Although they do seem to be wrapping things up nicely. That is at least better than the shows that are canceled with lots left unresolved.
I love seeing the actor playing the sheriff in the after bits where he’s speaking with his normal voice. He seems so mild and calm in comparison to his character.
I’m also going to miss the actor who plays Asta. I’ve gotten attached to her character. I loved how Harry said that because of the jingle dance, Asta is now part of everything.
And with Harry’s blood, she’s really part of everything!
Yeah, Corey Reynolds has been a great asset to the show.
(He’s active on Bluesky, so I can say I value him for his expressed political views, too.^_^)
So excited for series finale tonight! Hope all of us fans enjoy. No clue what they’ll leave open though. It’s over one hour.
Wasn’t bad.
That episode did a nice job of wrapping up the show but left some interesting possibilities open if it’s somehow renewed.
I agree with you three: there was enough closure to let us feel the characters had been dealt with with respect, but enough potential for further development (should some streaming service come to the show’s rescue).
I’m satisfied, and feel my time in Patience was rewarded (!)
