Actually…Frank was a mod here. Dunno about well liked or successful. I didn’t like him, and his moderation was a large part of the reason I left this place for a long time. Came back when he and Giraffe were no longer mods.

Anyway, back to the Pitting and/or sex party of Shot from Guns (who I personally think is awesome, btw).
And yet, if the experience was successful, that does suggest lack of idiocy.
Really, I don’t think Guns is all that idiotic in ATMB. There are a lot of flaws with moderation here. Where most people just shrug and get on with life, Guns actively pursues those flaws.
The problem most people have with Guns is that they get too defensive. While, yes, her attitude doesn’t help in conducting straightforward civil conversation, people reflexively push back against her when she pushes at them, and horn-locking commences.
I’m not saying the only way to deal with Guns is to say “Yes, you’re totally right,” but instead you need to be willing and able to examine your own position. If it’s coherent and consistent, you can argue her down and convince her you’re right. If it’s flawed and you refuse to examine those flaws, she will happily butt heads with you until you acknowledge them or she’s forcibly put down.
My kind of woman, really.
ETA: If there is a flaw to be found in her behavior, it’s that she sometimes just doesn’t know when to let something go.
