Resolved: We NEED Another Christmas/Mid-Winter Holiday!

For me, anyway. I always get sad when the Christmas lights/decorations come down…while we are mired in late January/February gllom!
It seems to me that Christmas is such a happy time (parties and lights0 that we should have another such holiday-maybe in early February?
Of course, I’m the guy who keeps his tree up as long as possible!
What do you think?

How about we just make Super Bowl Sunday into an official hoilday? And give everyone the monday after off too.

You need Family Day. Third Monday of February.

sigh

Go ahead…take Imbolc. The Christians have taken all the others anyway.

We’re feeling exactly the opposite in my office. Most of us don’t rate paid holidays and we work 4-10’s so when we’re required to take a Monday off it just means we’ll have to work on Friday.

We all bitched about MLK Day and we’ll bitch again when Presidents’ Day rolls around. It’s my busiest time of the year work-wise, I’d be content to wait until the 4th of July.

Sounds good to me. I say we all celebrate Chinese New Year.

Not for everyone!

Yes, I’m a neo-pagan and everything, but… beginning of spring? In February? Not around here it isn’t!

Groundhog Day, people. This is what Groundhog Day is for.

You don’t even have to take the decorations down afterward, because when it ends it starts over again.

I think you should move to Puerto Rico:
[QUOTE=Wikipedia]
Puerto Rico celebrates all the official holidays of the United States,[1] and a large number of other which are official holidays established by the Commonwealth government.

Additionally, many municipalities celebrate their own Patron Saint Festivals (fiestas patronales in Spanish), as well as festivals honoring cultural icons like Bomba y plena, danza, salsa, hamacas (hammocks), and popular crops such as plantains and coffee.

PR has four business holidays in January.
