Response to Loach

One of these things is much more likely to happen. Guess which one.

If I posted a joke or fictional story for whatever reason, and it upset a great number of people, I would almost certainly apologize for doing so because that was not my intention.

I would not try to turn things around by declaring that I intended to upset people, even in an over-the-top or joking manner. Because that would (1) upset people further, and (2) give the clear impression that I intended to upset people (what is generally referred to as “trolling” in Web Lingo).

I would not then demand a public apology from someone who accused me of doing what I appeared to be doing (trolling).

I don’t understand the logic behind these decisions.

Scylla, I don’t know that you started that thread to rile people up, but I do know you bragged about riling people up. It’s hard not to make the leap to thinking that was your intent.

And what’s with the tantrum in this thread? Did you take lessons from that kid or something?

Great!

Looks like you are positively reveling in negative responses.

It’s called attention -seeking behavior.

Naw. Not initially.

OP, you didn’t get a warning, your thread was closed. Jeez. But you feel insulted, and that’s your gripe. Good luck with that.

Id rather be burned at the stake. A hot steak is always better than a cold chop.

If he gets an apology, may I have a pony?

Yes, yes you can.

I hear that holding your breath until you turn blue is an effective negotiating tactic.

Wait, how come SHE gets a pony and I don’t? I want a pony too. BUY ME PONY!

YOU get a pony! And YOU get a pony! And YOU get a pony!

I’m not buying the ponies. I just have a spare.

Come on, credit where it’s due: Regardless of Scylla’s politics, or his behavior in this thread, “The Horror of Blimps” is pretty damn funny. One of the few times something I’ve read online has literally made me laugh out loud.

But I’m allergic…

:frowning:

I would like a pony. And I would like it if we stop attacking our few conservative posters.

Yes Scylla’s story sucked on many levels. I’m surprised nobody called him out for his weak retort (supposedly) to the mom.

BFD (that stands for Big Fucking Deal). You can’t hit it out of the park every time. BUT Scylla can put together a coherent sentence. He can try and explain his repugnant (to me) views on social issues. We don’t have much of that left here.

Politics have become so toxic that I really can’t discuss things with conservative people. At all. Not at work, not at gatherings. This is a place that I can at least read about their thoughts, even discuss them.

But not if they are all gone.

Yeah, some needed to be weeded out. The electric lawn mowing man was a waste of, well electricity, but Shodan, Bricker, and Scylla , can at least articulate a position.

Better than me anyway.
