Respringing into Spring?- A MMP

“Spring” began last week, but you wouldn’t know it.
I’m all verklempt, talk amongst yourselves.

First! It’s good to be juvenile.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and windy with a predicted high of 74 for the day and maybe rain. Or not. The weather PTB are all willy-nilly about that today. We shall have temps into the 80s again this week so Spring is makin’ a comback.

Other than that, just another manic Moanday here in south Jawja. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Oh well, at least ‘tis a four day week for da bear as I’m takin’ Firday off.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

I hesitate to express it publicly, but I think spring just might have arrived here… FINALLY!!! Fingers crossed and all that jazz.

Good morning!

I’ve decided I need to make a to-do list or I’ll never get anything to-done. So that’s my plan for this morning. And it works, since it’s raining at the moment.

Forgot to share this yesterday: at Pho Saigon for lunch yesterday, our server, as shown on our receipt, was Bart Simpson Thao! Yet another reason I don’t expect that restaurant to last.

March is almost over, which means my retirement pay gets deposited tomorrow, and the peasants rejoiced!

Happy Moanday!

Blurf. :grumble:

Me, too, blurf :grumble:

It’s supposed to actually behave like Spring this week, so I may actually venture outside. It’s been several months since my last cut & color, and the grey hairs are taking over again.

Though it’s another Monday I’m in a pretty good mood. Work has been more fun & challenging since a shift in management late last year. Unlike the past decade, we have actually grown a little, added staff, and our ratings are up a tad. Morale is up and there’s a little excitement.

Today *two *new photogs start, which will help reduce some of our heavy workload. I’m looking forward to meeting them and I hope they live up to the hype.

Only downside - kinda tired. Stayed up too damn late. Will have to drink coffee when I get to the station (that is a rarity for me).

Of course my good attitude will probably take a nosedive in a few hours when I run headlong into a wall of full stupid, so we’ll see if it lasts.

Heya, all. I need to mail a letter today! My life is so exciting, haha. Actually, I think I’ll be really lazy and let my dad mail the letter. Well, it’s because he is going out anyway and there’s a mailbox where he’ll be. It isn’t really because I’m lazy.

In slightly more exciting news, I’ll be working on a music arrangement. If my music computer still works (I sheepishly admit I spilled one of my club sodas on it yesterday. But I think not much damage was done, so I’ll try turning the computer on again today.)

Anyway, I must get to preparing the letter.

**tugig **- how long have you worked in the DC area? I should think by now you’d be immune to the stupid, whether it’s politicians, locals, or tourists.

Near as I can tell, the rain has stopped, but it’s still icky and cold outside. And I don’t know if it’s allergies or a cold, but I’ve been going thru tissues at an alarming rate! I just brewed up a mug of hot tea - here’s hoping it helps.

I’ve got my to-do list going and I just added 3 more items to it. I think when I print it, I’ll have some lines where I can pencil in new things that occur to me. Anyway, if I pick an item or 2 a day, I should beat most of it into submission in a couple of weeks, weather permitting. Much of it has to be done outside, and a look at the long-range forecast shows way too much rain for raking and pruning. But we shall see.

I may bake some cookies today. Last night, I had a serious hankerin’ for oatmeal cookies. In fact, I think I’ll get some butter out to soften…

… I was just thinking about making chocolate chip cookies! Note to self: take butter out of fridge.

Spring definitely showed up around Casa De Purple. Including but not limited to a new potful of multicolored coleus, and another pot of horsetail reeds to which I promptly added some green onions from my kitchen, plus a batch of chive + nasturtium flower seeds all 'round.

I love gardening. I’m sure you couldn’t tell. I may be temporarily limited to a small, north-facing (and therefore dark) balcony ATM as a result of … well, life … but coleus and horsetails do well in the shade and it was a lovely sunny day and it felt *good *to put new life into the dirt again.

Ah yes -------- so those are Spring flurries in the air. That makes me feel much warmer.

Leftovers from last week:

You got it, Veggie-mite Breath!
A lot of really odd (even by my standards) adulthood stuff happening overnight and gotta run. Hope to check back later and see what the earlier risers had to say before me.

Spring break from school and day off from work. Too bad I still have a load of homework (I have one teacher who apparently doesn’t believe in spring break. She also doesn’t seem to realize or care that her students do have other classes and non-school life obligations).

Yesterday in no. Illinois it was a high of 37 and rainy/sleet. I made it to the new barn for a riding lesson (dressage). I haven’t ridden since I retired my beloved Bob in 2012 and it was at least 10 years prior to that that I rode any horse besides him. I had a great time. A bit rusty but all the years of learning came back. Of course I fell while dismounting which apparently is something I need to work on. Going back Firday for another lesson since I have the day off. The barn is guarded by two English Mastiffs, each the size of a pony. After nanosecond they decided I passed the friend test and spent a good amount of time leaning against me and bringing me their toys. Anipals is gud.

Spring is undecided here in Blighty. Saturday was not unpleasant with some sun, but yesterday was wet and very windy. Today is mild, windy and we have been threatened with rain but so far nothing’s turned up.

I am in a quandry now…going on my holidays on Thursday. What to pack?

We’ve had a few peeks of sun, but the temp is still below 50°. On the plus side, I just tidied up all the house plants in the front window. There was lots of dead leafage to get rid of. And all have been watered, so yay.

Lunch has been ingested, and in a little bit, I’m going to bake some oatmeal cookies. Fish for supper, I’m thinking. Salmon. Must pull it out to thaw.

N.O.L. has been ingested. 'Tis cloudy, dreary, and rainy out. Irk has not been as irksome as it could be. So, all in all, everything’s jake right now.

BooFae, the green dress!

Spring has returned to middle Tennessee. It’s a glorious day outside. Too bad they won’t leave me move my desk there. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll leave irk a little early today for a doctor’s appointment, then have choir practice tonight. Fun.

Happy Moonday!

I had typed a post earlier but it went poof! and so it goes. I took it as a sign and went back to bed.

It’s not as cloudy as it was earlier but it still looks icky out. It’s almost 50 degrees though so I may go sit on the porch for a bit today.

I finally slept a full night last night, and after a little more sleep this morning I feel more alive than I have since forever.

Sah-son asked me to make pancakes and eggs for him later today. He’s old enough to make his own but it’s one of those things he likes me to do for him.

I have to start my taxes today. I keep putting it off, I don’t want to do it, but it needs to be done.

I was going to go to the armpit today or tomorrow but my mother called and asked if we planned on coming twice in one week. She wants us there for Easter, I have no idea why when she is going to spend the afternoon/evening with her deceased bf’s family. So we are all supposed to come to brunch.
I don’t know if I am going or not. If I don’t she will be hurt/pissed but just thinking about it has my chest getting tight and my stomach churning.

So I will think about something else, like the joy of doing taxes.

The last dozen cookies are in the oven - I think I’ll end up with 11 dozen - half with raisins, half without. It smells yummy in here! Once the cookies are done, I’ll immediately wash the pans and put them back in the hot oven to dry.

It’s quite windy out, but I may venture forth and sweep the leaves off the back deck. No gardening today, but maybe tomorrow. But sweeping the deck will be the second item off my list, so yay!

You have my sympathies.
:frowning:

Which half are you eyeing?
(Dibs on the ones with raisins)
