Like everybody else, I answered before I read the whole OP.
This whole thread would make Michelle Flaherty violent.

Okay if it means that much to people I’ll ask a moderator to edit the question.
I had 13 checked before I saw the two-year qualifier. I eat at fast-food restaurants a lot less often than I used to, I guess. I had to go back and unclick everything except McDonalds, which I visit once a year at most.
I will qualify my response thusly: Yes, I included Pizza Hut in my votes. But it was a new Pizza Hut, and I was feeling whimsical. It was a terrible pie, and I haven’t been back. But before I come across as too snobbish, I will proudly admit that Taco Bell bean burritos make me happy. I eat them whenever I can.
Two of my selections would rank much higher in the polling if they were nationwide.
In-n-Out Burger
and
Pollo Loco
They’re my two must-get’s whenever I go back to Southern California to visit.
I read the OP. Go me!
Damn, I eat a lot of fast food.
There are also several I frequent that are not listed.
These are multi-state fast-food chains only?
–G?
I refuse to believe, that at the time of this post, there are only 39 Canadians on this board.
(Yes, Timmy Ho’s only has 39 votes.)
I checked twice before submitting to see if I missed one, but, then, after I submitted, I was looking through to see how popular my answers were, and saw that I missed one.
I have eaten at Subway: they have a pretty awesome salad, better than many sit-down restaurants.
The only ones that we have around here that I don’t eat at are Domino’s, Pizza Hut and Arbys. We also had Quiznos and KFC during the time period in question. We had a Popeye’s and a Long John Silver’s, but that was a long time ago.
Besides those I voted for or mentioned above, the restaurants I’ve eaten at in my lifetime are A&W, Blimpie (on college campus), Chipotle, Dunkin’ Donuts (carryout only), Panda Express, Starbucks, and Whataburger (across the street from college). There was also one of those fried chicken places on campus that I tired a couple times, but I can’t remember if it was Chick-Fil-A or Church’s Chicken.
The only fast food chains I’ve been to that are not on the list which come to mind right now are Sbarros (at the mall on trips) and Pizza Pro. But not in the past 2 years. Like the others, they don’t serve anything I can eat.
Still a lot of work, copying and pasting each one. t least, I remember it having a separate text box for each option–it’s been a while since I’ve made a poll.
Thanks for pointing out that I eat at too many fast food places. On the other hand, about half of them were from travels from Minnesota into Texas and Louisiana and Mississippi. Sometimes it’s interesting to see what’s available in other parts of the country. Sonic? Jack-in-the-Box? Whataburger? To me, that’s exotic!
I do the same thing. I drive across country a couple of times a year (from New York to Texas and back) and I’ll intentionally stop at fast food chains I don’t have here at home.
Guthrie’s is pretty much a local chain (I thought it was more widespread than it actually is). It has several dozen restaurants but they’re mostly in Alabama or just outside Alabama in neighbouring states. Its only two non-regional locations are one franchise in Las Vegas and one in Cleveland.
Those two are about as different as two fast food places can be - Chick-Fil-A is an upscale chicken sandwich place that only serves a boneless fried chicken breast sandwich and is mainly located in suburbs while Church’s serves regular fried chicken on the bone and is mostly in urban locations. The only thing they have in common is chicken. And from my observation, the clientele of Church’s is mainly black while that of Chick-Fil-A is mainly white.
Well, it was definitely boneless, but, as you said, Chick-Fil-A is a bit upscale, so I wasn’t sure they would actually do a college food court deal. But I’ve since found out it was definitely Chick-Fil-A.
But I don’t remember it being a sandwich place. Everyone I saw got chicken strips in a basket.
I’m surprised Culver’s isn’t on the list. They have spread across quite a bit of the country. Map.
Little Nemo, what was your criterion for which chains to include in the poll? Did you just list all the fast-food-ish chains you personally could think of, or was there some deeper logic or research behind the list?
What kayaker and** bibliophage** said. Most of the time I go to fast food, it’s for drinks, and that rarely. Hilarious having to uncheck so many choices when I saw the 2 years or less part.
Added Raising Canes, in the none of the above section. It’s a chicken-finger fast food chain that’s really not bad, though again, I haven’t been there in about 8 months.
Roy Rogers is still in business?!
Now, if the poll took frequency into account –
There are several places listed that I’ve only been to once or twice. But there are five where I eat at least once a month: Chipotle, Panera Bread, Boston Market, Subway, and Noodles & Company. These are a step above burgers-and-fries fast food. (So is Cosi, but the nearest one is ten miles away.
