Ok I have reinstalled Windows 10 and used Tweakhound’s guide to clean it up and optimize it a bit. But they’ve either changed Windows or I deleted something I shouldn’t have.
There used to be a Windows Update option on the Start Menu, which would take you to a Microsoft Windows Update website. The sitte would scan your computer and give you a list of updates, which you could select and download at will.
However I can’t find this option on the Start Menu (which I trimmed way down) or anywhere else. I can select Settings in the start menu, and it takes me to a screen that has, among other things, an option for “Update & security Windows Update, recovery, backup”, which checks for updates and installs them, but doesn’t let me see anything except what it’s currently installing, or let me choose what to install.
So how do I get back into the Windows Update web site which gives you a listof updates and lets you choose?
My XBox 360 controller is not recognize, and when I tried to look up drivers or how to install it, a site said that if Win 10 is fully updated it should recognize the controller automatically. But the only Windows update option I have says everything is “up to date”. I use this controller for a lot of Steam games so I want it set up ASAP.
Aslo somehow lost my control panel option from the start menu. I can still access it, but I can’t figure out how to create a taskbar shortcut to it.
