Revenge (ABC TV Show)

I thought the motive was that the Graysons were working with (investing money on behalf or or laundering money for) the terrorists responsible for the plane crash. In other words, they actually did the things for which her father was convicted.

That was my understanding as well, though I don’t know if they outright spelled it out or it’s just been sort of implied.

I agree. There would be no reason to hang her dad out to dry. They needed a fall guy, and it would be much easier to fake the books to make it look like he was the mastermind laundry guy, as opposed to building all of that from scratch.

Is anyone else still watching this?

It’s definitely the show I look forward to the most, that month long hiatus was almost painful but it’s back and other than Victoria’s new/old romance which makes no sense so far it’s better than ever.

I kind of liked the semi redemption that Treadwell was given and I’m really looking forward to the downfall of Victoria with all the evidence that Emily has been gathering on her most recent ventures. I get wanting your kid out of jail but having him beaten to accomplish that? That takes a special kind of crazy.

I guess they’re trying to make Victoria a little less one-dimensional (bitch queen) by expanding her back story a bit - she sacrificed true love for security.

A thought I just had - do you suppose Emily dug this guy up somehow? Unlikely, since he was at the bar where Victoria was paying off the beat down guy (and Emily followed her there (unless she called him to show up)), but would be fun if true (true love rediscovered and then crushed).

The guy Victoria met this week was supposedly an art forger. So I wonder if that’s going to figure into the plot somehow; didn’t Victoria auction off a valuable painting for charity in an earlier episode? Perhaps that will turn out to be a forgery.

Ohhh, that would be awesome, particularly since Lydia was the winner of the auction. Excellent way to bring her back into the story.

This show is definitely my guilty pleasure. So glad it’s back!
But hasn’t Emily had her revenge? Ruining the family and all? When is the logical point for her to stop (not ABC’s choice)?
admire Declan for helping his brother (dumb of Jack not to burn that hoodie).
Emily’s millionaire buddy is a great character. Any scene he’s in is a good one.
and yeah, I liked Treadwell turning on Bitch Queen, though he’s being played like everyone else.
I’m sure Daniel will start doubting Emily soon - a too predictable plot twist I’m afraid.

I don’t think art dude was an accident but I’m torn between thinking Victoria set it up and Emily set it up. Either is possible.

In fact, maybe the forgery isn’t one that’s been done already but one that Victoria needs to convince him to do for one of her schemes. I wonder if she’s already planning to set up her ex after the trial ends.

I’m thrilled that the show is finally back, but, while enjoyable, much of this episode was baffling.

I have no idea where Emily is going by recording the thug’s confession that Victoria hired him. I don’t think she’ll do well trying to drive a wedge between Daniel and his mother at this point.

I’m totally at a loss to figure out how Victoria thinks she’ll get anywhere trying to imply that Emily was the one who shot Tyler. Wasn’t Emily very visibly at the engagement party when the shooting happened? Way too many alibi witnesses there.

And I don’t see the point of Emily’s and Nolan’s strategy of getting Jack out of town on a wild goose chase. I guess they didn’t know that Declan was going to destroy Charlotte’s credibility (not that she fingered Jack in the first place, that was fabricated by Victoria), but how were they going to get the heat off of him, especially if he looks like a fugitive? They know the money was wired to Tyler, not Amanda, so they know not to expect him to find Amanda in Montreal.

I’m not very enthusiastic about this artist guy who Victoria’s hooking up with.

No one from the party actually heard the shots. Tyler was dead for an unknown length of time before Char and Declan went swimming. Daniel and Emily had been down on the beach arguing and she returned to the party without him which is when Tyler entered the scene. It’s conceivable that she waited long enough to finish off Tyler, knocked out Daniel and then went back to the party to wait for the body to be discovered with everyone else.

Of course we know that’s not what happened but Victoria and Daniel don’t.

I’d be more enthusiastic about the artist guy if he were played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (as suggested in a recap I read).
and yes, Victoria will drive a wedge between Emily & Daniel re the shooting, though I think that’s a dumb way to go in a show that’s otherwise been pretty clever.

No, Victoria was surprised that someone sent a drink to “Vicki Something”. I certain no one has dared called her Vicki in years - so either a coincidence (which just never happens in this show) or a setup.

Victoria is/was attempting to hang it on Amanda Clark (who, of course is the real Emily, but Victoria doesn’t know that (yet)). I think that Tyler was going to bring her to the party (wasn’t she all dressed up at some point?), but I’m pretty sure she told him to take a hike.

I assume that she wants to see the Graysons’ involvement with the terrorist cell exposed and her father’s name cleared, and also seeing them rendered penniless and in jail would be nice. Also, her revenge isn’t really complete until they know her true identify and that she is responsible for their ruination.

Dewey Finn - good point. esp since back when the show started there were comparisons to Count of Monte Cristo.

Folacin:

At first, yes. But later, after Charlotte’s credibility is damaged by the drug issue, she asks Daniel if he remembers seeing Emily at the time. She’s clearly trying to hang it on Emily now.

(But yes, I’d forgotten that no one at the party actually heard the shots, it was Charlotte’s and Declan’s screams that brought everyone running to the beach.)

I love this show, but after the last ep, I’m a bit confused – having trouble understanding some of dialog. So Nolan (Gabriel Manning, with whom I’m in love) is a good guy – I had my doubts for awhile. But I’m confused about the new character (played by Tess Harper) and her relationship to Nolan and just how Nolan became involved with Amanda’s father.

That was Nolan’s aunt. She was also Conrad Grayson’s secretary. She became aware of evidence that Amanda’s father was innocent and so Nolan helped her go into hiding to avoid being killed by the Graysons.

Love Nolan. Damn if this show isn’t my most pleasurable of guilty pleasure tv shows.

I feel the same. It’s actually my favorite new show of the past season.
