I’m sorry, I just had to post… that was the most over-the-top, ridiculous, funny couch gag ever!!
Not a bad start to the regular season I think! 
You think they would have used that for last week’s Halloween episode.
Maybe it took too long to fit in with the other halloween material.
You’ve piqued my curiosity, now tell me what it was.
When the family goes to sit on the couch, it comes alive and tries to eat them. Then all the couches in town start to attack their owners. Homer escapes only to end up in a couch store where he is mobbed by evil couches.
Moe fights off a sectional sofa with his shotgun.
They weren’t sectional sofas. They were his restaurant booths.
That sounds funny. Too bad I couldn’t see it. My favorite couch sequence is the one where they run and sit on the couch. It then zooms out so you see the house, then the city, then the country, the world, the solar system (passing Kang and Kodos), the galaxy. Then it’s so far out that galaxies are points of light, which turn into atoms. It continues to zoom out so you see molecules, then tissues, then skin very, very close, then Homer’s head, and it finally ends where it started. And Homer says “Wow” or something like that.
now that’s a good couch gag!
