Revenge of the Sith.

I’m actually looking forward to this movie.

I’m listening to the soundtrack right now. I bought a magazine today (Star Wars Magazine) with rather a lot of revealing shots (see spoiler) And I’m hearing good things from people who were strong critics of I and II.

[spoiler]Most intriguing are the ones of Anakin crawling out of lava sans legs and facial skin. Anakin with robotic legs. Anakin in bottom half of vader helmet. Darth Vader rising.

It’s only a slight shame the modern vader has to retain the vacu-formed helmet and seventies abdomen control-panel.[/spoiler]

I’m guessing Bactine ain’t gonna help that.

It’s called bacta

With this being the last Star Wars film there will ever be… I am quite surprised that with just nine days to go until release, a search for the word ‘sith’ yeilded no results in this forum.

SWIII is a big deal isn’t it?

I think everyone is just calling it Ep III.

Supposedly.

I’m still burned[sup]*[/sup] by the last two movies that I’m hesitant on whether to fork out the bucks for this one. I’m thinking of holding out until the “Lucas has redeemed himself for the last two crapfests” alarm is raised.

[sup]*[/sup] Ha!

I will never understand the haters or the lovers. They either hate all or like all. For my part, I liked The Phantom Menace, it was silly yet dazzling in a similar vein as A New Hope. I loath Attack of the Clones, yet I am looking forward to Revenge of the Sith and am convinced this one will blow me away (with a few cringing moments here and there) just as I was convinced Attack of the Clones was utter poop. A pity, having seen the plots outlined by one doper, these movies make up a pretty good story. It’s a shame Lucas didn’t hire a better writer for his films.

This not good enough for ya?

I’m a SW geek who loved the first two movies, but I’m even more excited because so far ROTS has been getting very good reviews. Check out Rotten Tomatoes. With twenty-three reviews counted so far only two have been rotten. That’s 91% positive. Plus the average rating is a 8 out of 10. I suppose it’s possible that as more reviews come in the rating will drop dramatically, but I doubt it.

For comparison:
Ep I: TPM, 62%.

Ep II: AOTC, 65%

I am also intrigued by Sith, even though I have yet to muster the desire to even want to sample Clones. But every time I see Hayden Christensen in his oversized hoodie, I am SO not impressed. He kind of looks like he just got out of the shower and is in the process of drying his hair.

Damn … I was just on LiveJournal with the different coding.

To Lobsang, who said “SWIII is a big deal isn’t it?” - Well, it definitely is inthe general media driven culture (of which Cafe Society is but an elite portion) - just look at the cover of Time, Premiere magazine, the shelves of bookstores, toystores, Burger King…
BUT - it is not a big deal to everybody.
I strongly dislike, maybe hate, the Star Wars phenomenon. I generally try to keep my antipathy to myself & be tolerant of everyone’s opinion (& ask everyone to be tolerant of my LOTR geekiness) - but being exposed to all this Sith worship in the media is making me all intolerant again.

[Except for those dark chocalte M&Ms theyr’e marketing as a movie tie-in. Now those are worthwhile.]

For what it’s worth, I stood in line to see the first Star Wars and have seen everyone one since. But I’m just not all that excited about this one. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because each movie that comes out is not as good ( or exciting, fresh, etc to me personally) as the last. Maybe I’m just older and tired. I’ll probably go see this one just to say I did, but I ain’t waiting in line to do it.

You absolutely should not even think about SWI and II when deciding to see this one. I think GL had brain transplant because I’m willing to bet this one is actually good.

Anyway… I’m listening to the soundtrack again, and i’m noticing bits that sound a lot like bits of the three soundtracks of the LotR Trilogy. Good:Bad? I don’t know (probably good) Deliberate:Accidental? I don’t know (probably deliberate)

Some of it also reminds me of the soundtrack from Minority Report

It means John Williams is borrowing from someone other than himself.

Count me as one of those fans who drank Lucas’ Kool-Aid… I’m totally psyched. I’m also considering buying whatever I have to at BK to get those little Kid’s Meal toys… For a while, I had a very appealing pic of Hayden Christensen for my PC wallpaper.

And after Ep. III comes out on DVD, I plan to watch all six movies in chronological sequence in one day, in a sort of Star Wars Ring Cycle Gesamtkunstwerk extravaganza. (It would be even better if I had home theater.) Yes, my friends think I’m nuts.

I will be there at midnight opening day. I can’t wait.

My older brother wants to see the midnight opener as well.

I’m going to wait till midweek. I didn’t care much for the last two, but I think this one will be pretty good.
