Revenge

Have you ever been so angry that you’ve thought about getting revenge? Did you follow through? More importantly, what did you consider doing in order to rectify the situation? Of course this is all in the hypothetical so as not to incriminate anyone…
To start things off I’ll go first.

I had this jerk of a friend who no one liked (even in our circle of friends he was detested…) Let’s call him Ed. Somehow Ed managed to get me angry at him, and I don’t get angry very easily- it takes a lot to send me over the edge.

So we are walking home together (Me, him, and two other friends) one afternoon. I’m still pissed at him, but I don’t let on because revenge is a dish best served cold. We spot a porta potty and we take turns using it. I go first and then Ed goes in. As soon as the door was closed I went around behind the potty. I signalled the other two guys to help me, but only one did because the other thought it was cruel. With one gigantic push we sent it over. This was the type of Porta Potty with it’s own platform so since we pushed it forward (onto the door) there was no way to escape. I heard Ed screaming as the sound of a full days worth of excrement coated him. He began to panic as he realized he couldn’t get out. I leaned over to the vent and said that he was getting his just desserts for whatever it was he had done to me. We then left the area (but we stayed with in a few hundred yards just incase no one came along to free him.) Ed was lucky as the site manager did come along and helped him out.

I got in a lot of trouble for doing that (I was 15 at the time) but it was worth it.

So does anyone else have any true or “hypothetical” revenge stories out there?

I’m a wholehearted subscriber to the vengence business. I’ve mellowed a bit as I’ve gotten older, true, but every now and then someone will push me just enough and then it’s gloves off. Mr. Kitty, however, has the absolute best revenge story I’ve ever heard.

Many, many, many years ago one of Mr. Kitty’s friends was raped and beaten. Adding insult to injury; although she filed a report, the police did nothing and the guy was never prosecuted (small town, big name, you know the story). Making it even worse was the fact that the guy knew she’d filed a report and made it his mission to make her life hell. He’d call her, show up at her school and work, follow her, etc. Just a real mean bastard. The girl was an absolute wreck. Then Mr. Kitty stepped in.

He took out the overhead light in the guy’s car, got a small container of (IIRC) sulfuric acid, and after poking a hole in the top left it on the driver’s seat. Settled himself into the nearby bushes and waited for the show. Apparently it was a good one. The level of physical damage has remained in question all these years, but it was probably damn significant. Mr. Kitty never told the girl what he had done; all she knew was all of a sudden not only was the guy not bothering her anymore, but he’d go way out of his way to avoid her.

Whenever Mr. Kitty gets a bee in his bonnet, I lay flat on the floor and hope he doesn’t notice me.

Good man you got there bobkitty.

I keep all revenge in my imagination. While I may mentally eviscerate the one who done me wrong, I won’t demean myself by intentionally harming or humiliating someone just to make myself feel better. I see no value in it.

I work with Ed now.
He’s still an insufferable asshole.

I spent one lunch shopping for a Tiger Beat and plastered his office door with pics of teeny bop guys cut out of it. The V.P. walked by and mentioned he thought Ed needed some time away. Bullseye.

I think I’m with FCMom…soon as I look up eviscerate.

Hey, cool…anyhoo, I believe in the “What goes around, comes around” theory. It may not always work that way, but when it does, it’s sweet.

Just out of curiousity, if he was such a jerk, why were you “friends” with him?

revenge is the best. heres one:

in grade school, there was this asshole who would pick on me and make my life hell. a real cement-head that would hassle me for no reason other than he knew i was harmless. well, i ran into him about 10 years later in a nightclub i worked at. he was mister nice-guy then, acting like we were best friends and all. funny, he didn’t seem to remember that our only interaction was him threating me with violence. well, he had come that evening with an attractive young lady (i had seen her in the joint before) as his date. we were hangin’ out, laughing and drinking and talkin’ about the good old days. he tells me how much he is in love with this girl and how she was the one for him while she was in the powder room. he was really knocked out by this chick. later, he gets up to go to the bar for a round of drinks, and i grab his date’s hand and say, “lets go home!” she says, “yeah!”

(insert hot, steamy sex scene and 70’s porn music complete with obligitory wah-wah pedal abuse here)

yeah, revenge is the best!

I’m not quite sure. At first it was because he was the new kid on the block and then because my brother liked him. Probably though because I had a horrendous childhood and needed an outlet (for which I am still troubled- I no longer treat people that way for the record.) But if someone commits an “evil” act against me or my family then I get revenge.

It’s better to make sure it comes around…

I agree. I find absolutely nothing demeaning at all with skillful revenge. The law is simply not equipped to exercise our rights to retribution sufficiently for my taste.

Revenge works best on people who believe that they are somehow above injury. They think they can get away with it.

And if it weren’t for revenge, they would be able to.

I must say that no one has so betrayed me in my personal life that I desired to get even. My friends all know better.

But my last job, well, that was war.

…ah, but revenge is a dish best served cold. So I’ll wait, and I’ll bide my time, and then I’ll crush him… oh, never mind, I’ll crush him now!

Agreed. But another reason for waiting is so that your response will be measured. If you react immediately, there’s a risk you’ll overreact and then you look juvenile. If you wait awhile you’ll either get over it or come up with a more suitable and intelligent plan.
