Ghostbusters?
Fair point. Allow to me add that the “villain” of the piece is mentored by an old man who kills innocent animals for sport, once fought for the enemy of his homeland, and who has a history of exploiting child labour.
Very good, MHaye.
That would be The Karate Kid (1984 version)
Has this one been answered?
I’m not sure if a tree counts as a corpse, but I’ll guess Pinocchio.
The Exorcist
Right you are!
Edward Scissorhands?
Quite right!
From the last page:
A supervillain plots the downfall of civilization from his hidden base and establishes a “shadow society” which will emerge from the ashes and take control of the world.
I don’t think this is correct, but
Watchmen
I know I’m not right but I stll want to say I Am Legend
Mine has proved a bit opaque.
I’ve tried rewording it; I think the changes make it slightly more accurate.
A priest rescues a disgraced nobleman from durance vile. Together, they inspire a native people to wicked rebellion against the laws of their appointed masters. The authorities have to resort to force majeure to restore law and order.
(The film was released in 1986.)
Ah, so not Star Wars.
No, not Star Wars.
It’s set on Earth, in the 1750s.
Nope to both.
Wikipedia informs me this is likely The Mission, which I’d never heard of before.
Correct.
Another one I haven’t seen, but when I ran across Transformers looking for possible movies that fit I thought it might work. I’d probably have to actually see it to know if it actually fits.
Dr. Strangelove
That is correct.
