I lived in China two years, but I don’t remember anything like that McDonald’s sauce. Having said that, sweet and sour is* identical* in China. Maybe one of the only things that was actually identical.
Don’t they have Szechuan Chicken or Beef in China or are those American creations?
Well right. It was an American invention by an American corporation for a tie-in campaign to an American movie about a Chinese woman.
Only natural that it isn’t “real” Chinese sauce.
Yeesh, 70? That’s a lot of episodes. I love the show, but I’m not sure how they’ll sustain it with any kind of quality that far down the road.
All of Rick’s moves are dick moves!
Wow, I never heard of it. I must be missing something GREAT, lost in my own tiny tv viewing world.
Eh, it is about a completely amoral superscientist with infinite versions of himself across the multiverse who casually destroys worlds and cultures while dragging along his idiot grandson as ‘camouflage’.
It can be amazing, it can be hilarious, but it has attracted a very toxic fanbase, a significant portion of them who themselves want to be amoral assholes.
I’m a fan and I’d say this a pretty accurate, concise summation.
You gotta admit: people without morals sure seem happy. I mean, there’s nothing standing in the way of them having what they want, so they usually get it, right? I’ve always been jealous of the ethically challenged in that regard.
Where did you get the idea that Rick is happy?
Where did you get the idea that I said Rick was happy?
I enjoy the show and quite like it; but one thing that gives me pause, is that Rick is not just an immoral asshole - he’s a relentlessly joyless immoral asshole, who hates himself as much as he hates everything else; you get the impression he wants to be less of an asshole (particularly to his own family), but simply doesn’t know how.
Why anyone would want to be like Rick I have no idea; in the show, even Rick doesn’t want to be like Rick.
I dunno…he seems to take pride in being the Rickest Rick of them all.
But Ricks hate Rick.
He’s the Rickest Rick … so the other Ricks hate him the most.
From the Rickshank Redemption:
I read that as them hating all the other Ricks because they are all raging narcissists. Rick is a depressed, nihilistic, alcoholic narcissist.
It’s the same people who look up to the Joker, because you don’t fuck with them. They want to be the super smart dangerous crazy guy.
At least Dan Harmon unequivocally condemned his toxic fans. But 70eps of R&M is like 70 books from George RR Martin, ain’t gonna happen.
It depends on what the contract says. If it demands 70 episodes and he signed it then he had better produce 70 episodes or expect a hefty financial penalty.
If it is “up to” 70 episodes at a price per episode then I doubt he would do 70 in this lifetime (although seven episodes a year for ten years or ten episodes a year for seven years doesn’t sound too onerous).
You left out “amoral” and “gun-running.”
Just going from memory but Rick is the Rickest Rick because while all Ricks hate the government these other motherfucking Ricks “solved” the problem by forming a government. So they hate him because he is the “Rick” of the Rick government. Just as the Rick government is the “Rick” of the regular government.
