Rick Hillier, Chief of the Defense Staff, announced his pending retirement today, effective July 1. Damn. Our most outspoken and blunt CDS in years, who’s been a straight-talker about our mission and our woefully low budgets.

Here’s to ya, Rick. We are the Canadian Forces, and our job is still to be able to kill people.
