Coolsville/Young Blood/Chuck E’s in Love. 12 minutes of absolute brilliance. Seeing Rickie at the mic in her red beret, makes me feel like a teenager in love again.
We was Coolsville.
Now it’s just J&B and me.
I thought she was even sultrier in this old Mamorex tape commercial with Tom Waits and Ella.
Wow, I was just thinking about her today. Her flame was bright and short, it seems.
She’s always been a favorite of mine. Even so, the first two parts of that video are new to me, so thanks for that. It’s a shame, really; with the ability to (hopefully) find, in this day and age, all of the recorded works of a given musician (video and otherwise) online, there just never seems to be enough time. There’s always something else that needs doing getting in the way.
On a lighter note, yeah, I too am in love all over again with that amazing woman.
I’ve loved that album for decades, and had never seen this video. It’s absolutely perfect. Thanks!
They don’t make 'em like they used to. Pirates was the backdrop to many years of my life - love Rickie. Thanks for posting the video link!
There’s a sick song on Pirates called Woody And Dutch On The Slow Train To Peking - I swear it sounds like something Vulfpeck could have recorded two weeks ago. I’ve read that Donald Fagen of Steely Dan was involved in the production of this album, and indeed the title track has Steely Dan written all over it.
Wow, that is so good
